My wife thinks Native Instruments Komplete 8 (full) was only £179!!! ---- Life's too short to program soft synths, that's why we have romplers. |

Don't take this the wrong way people but.....WHERE HAVE YOU ALL BEEN?
Nomad Factory Waves Korg Cakewalk and many others have ALL reduced the prices of their older plugins this past year alone and even Steinberg have put out some 'very' old ones too. Also whether it be from AM No Brainers or 11/11/11 deals,I've got some 'SERIOUSLY' great deals this last year or 2. Korg Legacy Collection $99 + $30 for a crap keyboard. Nomad ISP3 $99 T-Racks singles average $15 each including 670 Compressor. Cakewalk Zeta + Session drummer 2 $15 the pair. Miroslav CE $15 .......and many many more! With indies like GSi and SKnote offering hardware modeled plugins at great prices along with awesome freebies from Martinic,Distorque and Sonimus amongst others.......wow.....just.....WOW! There has never,I repeat NEVER been a better time to be an engineer or computer musician. Edit : I 'had' included DDMF in my list of indie developers but having just noticed he has increased the price of ALL his plugins buy $10 so I felt obliged to edit.DDMF have just lost a future customer. A lot of devs give discontinued versions away free in mags, especially if they have new stuff coming out. I keep coming back to Helga. That might be the perfect example of what the OP is talking about. I'd consider it at $30 just to add it to my collection. But at the asking price today of $111.76 I'd consider it over priced given the level of competing products available now. Not sure how many units Kiesel sells nowadays....not even sure if they care but you rarely hear Helga mentioned (other than by the two of us ---- None are so hopelessly enslaved as those who falsely believe they are free. Damn, that's awful. I hope you find whatever you try helps. I'm always out for a bargain, so naturally I own nearly all of Cakewalk's synths and Audiomidi's No Brainers |

Unless you want to make money, that is. Other than that, it's never been easier. |

I very much like what Cakewalk did with Z3ta+. They put v 1.5 on sale for simply a great price - what was it? $15.00. Then, when v 2 came out, if you owned v1.5, you got a discount on the upgrade. It was an all around great price. But, it also helped in the dollar department where you didn't feel like you were paying through the nose upfront. You want to keep the old version - fine. Pay for upgrade - fine. Everybody happy. Oh, and the sale when on long enough you felt like there was no pressure to make a hasty decision.
I just simply loved that. |
