My new VST synth, Scythe, is free and available now. It's a port of my GrainBender iPad synth but with a somewhat different interface tailored more for VST. It's currently available as an OS X and Windows 32-bit VST.
key features: - unique, intuitive sound design interface - versatile oscillators with analog & digital waveforms - extensive but easy-to-use modulation - effects ranging from chorus and delay to digital grunge - low cpu usage http://www.plastaq.com/scythe/ Last edited by kuniklo on Sat May 05, 2012 5:59 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I don't even have access to a Windows box right now, but the code should be pretty portable. If I get enough requests for a port I'll do one. Thanks for your interest! |

A Win version would definitely be nice! Cheers Dennis ---- Back from the dead - Sorry if I didn't answer your mails/PM/whatever during the last few months. I hope everything will be back to normal soon. Life can take some shitty turns sometimes. |

Thanks for offering this for free - it's got a cool, fun character to it. Being a Mac user, I'm so used to seeing neat looking free synths all the time and lamenting that they're PC only - so it's nice to find one I can actually play with. |

Any audio demos (or video) for us windows guys so we can hear/see it in action? * Is the sound (exactly) the same as grainbender's? There's audio demos for it.. ---- Mulab-MUX-Diversion-TX16Wx-SKNOTE-Charlatan-Valhalla-GordonSmith-YamahaTHR10-Trackspacer-TheDrop/Glue-Drumaxx-VOS-DC8C [i5 2500K @ 4,3GHz] [8Gb DDR3] [200Gb+ SSD][M-Audio Delta 24/96 PCI] |

Everything in the sound engine is the same as GrainBender except the filter. This has a newer, better sounding multimode filter that's more versatile than the one in GB but the sound demos on the GB page should give you a pretty good idea of what it can do. It can do the usual subtractive bread & butter sounds well enough but it's really good (I think) for easily dialing up weird sounds and effects.
Maybe I'll put up a few sound demos on the Scythe page too. |

Yes I'd like to do an AU version. Shouldn't be too hard. I'll put it on my list. |
