Just a little piece messing with some Jeff Beck style harmonic vibrato stuff (poor attempt) and looping it through a Korg Kaoss Pad 3.

I liked that. It was interesting to get a guitarists'-eye view of what was going on. The music made more sense with the visual reference.

Nice work Cool

Always cool listening to a boomerang device.
I liked your original looped structure...but when you started screwing with it, it all just bleed into itself and became a mess.
Remember the saying...'divide and conquer'? That applies to boomerang loops too.
Keeping them apart from one another over time and using the mixer a good deal gives you more control to create a better montage.
I saw Ian Boddy create a section of loops like you did there. He was playing some weird four stringed acoustic instrument and bending the strings similar to how you were pitching your tones. After he laid them down he started to screw with separate delays on each loop. Some he reversed at times, mixing the loops in and out of the mix as he worked them. He may have been resampling as well, no way to know. It's a real skill doing it well. He managed to turn it into something unworldly and totally tripping. He used reverb to get distant effects which really broadened the whole scene.

Bottom line, it really takes skill and diligence. Keep up the good work.

Oh yeah totally get what you're saying - too true. And it's certainly possible with the boomerang - which I've not had that long.

with the m9 you can do exactly what you explained. Because once to record a loop you can put the fx post loop, further manipulate with other fx and use the boomerang as a 3 track recorder/mixer.

This example is more sound on sound and I think the sound on sound thing can get messy. But my aim was a dynamic thing rather than the separate loops in different forms. Just messing about.

Understood mate.
I don't know much about them...never handled one...do they have separate loop channel outputs? Ian Boddy was able to screw with each loop. Maybe he used something else. Shrug

EDIT: Just read up on it. Has a lot of features...of the likes of what I heard at the Boddy concert. Just mono/stereo outs I see. Maybe they make a model with multi-outs or he may have had a few of them. I have the show recorded. I'll have a listen. It's on cassette, but i'll try to post about 5 mins of his boomerang stuff here if you'd like to hear it?

no - it doesn't have dedicated channel outputs - therefore - it's best to manipulate the audio pre boomerang. though the boomerang has reverse/octave features.

in this vid the original loop is recorded on the m9, then via kaoss pad, el cap, hof.... there's plenty of way to set up these looper situation to suit.

though i'm not one for mixers in an guitar path to an amp
