What do you like best about Saurus? What are her best sounds? Please glorify the synth here. I know some feel its gets no love at KVR so let your love for the synth flow here. I'd like to hear your tracks with Saurus. Anyone wanto to share new patches? Thanks in and please don't mention any other synths, this is an exclusive zone for Saurus love |

OK I know I said I wouldn't post, but this is just to get you in the mood:

You could check my Soundcloud page about demos of my Saurus sounds:
http://soundcloud.com/ingoweidner/sets/saurus-demos/ I am working on more sounds currently and more demos will follow for sure. What i like about Saurus is that it got a great combination for sound quality, features, GUI and CPU use (even wit Unison used). The GUi is almost a single page except the small window with tabs for the Arpeggiator and the mod matrix. The next update should have fixes for possible bugs (including the wrong name for the 24dB LP filter which is not a Moog replication) and maybe also improvements for the low end of the sound. Like i mentioned several times the low end could be improved with an EQ (i use the Stillwell VibeEQ) at the LowShelf and around 110 Hz. I have used this for my "Abacab" demo track and in the "Synth Brass comparison 2". Ingo |

I'm stunned at how great the Saurus sounds The Phatty comparison and the brass just blew my mind Hi, nice to hear you like it. 2 songs seem to contain crackles at Soundcloud. The WAv files with better quality are available here: https://rapidshare.com/files/3489292195/Ingo_Weidner_-_Sauru s_vs_Slim_Phatty_Vol._1.zip https://rapidshare.com/files/2507967687/Ingo_Weidner_-_Sauru s_-_Synth_Brass_comparison_2.zip WAV files of other tracks are here: https://rapidshare.com/files/713271187/Ingo_Weidner_-_Abacab _Saurus_Remix.zip https://rapidshare.com/files/2382905123/Ingo_Weidner_-_Oxyge ne_4_Saurus_Remix.zip In the Oxygene 4 track also the drums are from Saurus. BTW it was not inended to recreate all sounds of the original song 1:1 so some differences could be possible. Ingo |

Yeah his examples of how good Saurus sounds are better than mine would be, but I have been experimenting recently with it making some nice single layer leads for it. The filters are stunning, but then I really am a Tone2 fanboy for all the filters (Bifilter2, Filterbank3) and I have no shame in saying that. I love them |

+1 The filters in both Saurus and ElectraX are great (while ElectraX has a much bigger amount of choices) and they seem to be quite different which is good IMO. Ingo |

Here's a few mini tracks. Just please note: there is no external processing used, not even a limiter, so you may need to turn the volume up a bit.
Synthologic (Drums - GURU) Digital Love Dance (Drums - Saurus) Boogie Heat (Drums - GURU) SynSaurus Pop (Drums - Saurus) |

I just love it for what it is, a great VA with one screen editing, great sound, nice filters, versatile, low CPU, simply a perfect work horse. Happy customer here.

Thanks Dalor, Ingo and zvenx. @zvenx Most of these sounds are currently in Saurus, these were my official demos with my presets, however some are not part of the default lib. Last edited by himalaya on Wed May 09, 2012 7:49 am; edited 1 time in total |
