Latest News: Straightarrow updates Quiver VSTi to v1.1

Hi,
I am still learning this synth and running it through VSTAU bridge with Logic in 32-bit mode. This is working but stability is not too good. I seem to get frequent issues with sound dropping out completely - until I restart Logic or with sound going into a feedback loop where I have to quickly hit the mute button or shred my speakers! When it is working, it is very interesting and the issues may be related to the VSTAU bridge I am using. Any updates on the AU and/or 64 bit version? Thanks, Mike |

Hi Mike,
How does the sound dropout happen -- is it an instant thing, or does it start infrequently, and then become more and more frequent after a few minutes? WRT the AU version: I've been working at this from two angles. I've been looking at the Symbiosis bridge source, which is a really good resource! Unfortunately it requires a rewrite of a bunch of the base GUI code. The second angle is that I have been working on that rewrite anyway, since I need to upgrade the UI capabilities... However, that's still a way off. I'm currently on paternity leave, so it's hard for me to squeeze in more than an hour or two of Quiver work per day, so the development pace is a bit slower than I would like at the moment. However, the pace should pick back up again during June. Best, Ralph |

Did a bit more work on the AU tonight. Managed to get a component compiled, but it's still not recognized as a valid AU. TODO:
1) Get recognized as AU. 2) Get default preset playing with no UI. 3) Get UI working. 4) Test & bugfix. I'll keep you updated, unfortunately I wont get back to it before the weekend. |

Glad you are working on this. The sound dropout is immediate when it occurs. When the sound freaks out, it builds up to a max volume somewhat quickly and sort of pulses (I frantically hit the mute but can watch the levels pulsing near the top volume). I think the issue is the VSTAU conversion and I see that the VSTAU bridge isn't downloadable anymore. Glad to see progress towards the AU version. Be happy to help you test when you have it closer.
