Many people seem to think that Dune is a trance machine and Diva can only emulate vintage stuff but that's not quite true. Both synthns are way more flexible than they seem to be.
A few "trancy" Diva examples: Mandatory Supersaw Thingy Another Trancy Thing Something Different A Nice Pad And some not so trancy DuneBE examples: A Weird Wavetable Thing A Drone-ish Thingy A Cheesy 80s Sound (I already posted these in another thread some days ago iirc. I hope it doesn't get annoying. It just seems relevant here.) Cheers Dennis ---- Back from the dead - Sorry if I didn't answer your mails/PM/whatever during the last few months. Hi Dennis, hadn't heard those before... for the Diva ones you are using an external arpeggiator?

I personally like Dune's mallet and organ sounds best. Not exactly trancy |

As Levzi said: what kind of music do you make? While I agree with Dennis that both don't necessarily need to be pigeon-holed into their respective "categories", they do lend themselves more easily to "modern" (Dune) and "vintage" (Diva) sounds. If you're into the retro thing, then you're going to be much happier with Diva, providing your puhter can handle it.
I think dune has a really, really nice sound, though, and the unison functions that set it apart are amazingly fat and warm. |

Really depends on what you like/want... They are rather different in character. You have to listen. |

Check out some presets, get an understanding of the user interface and see how well they work with your particular setup and musical style. ---- Hardware: Akai MPK61, MFB-Synth II, Roland JX-8P, Virus TI Snow, KORG MS2000R, Roland SH-01 Favorite software: Sylenth1, Synth1, Messiah, ME80, OPX-Pro II, Zebra 2, Diva, Reason, Studio One V2 Pro |

Asking whether to buy Dune or to buy Diva is like asking whether to eat with a fork or a spoon... it basically depends on what you want you eat. |

Nope! I just "painted" the sequences into the piano roll rsp I'm not the biggest fan of arpeggiators to be honest. I need ultimate control over every single aspect of my sounds/melodies/mixes/whatever Cheers Dennis ---- Back from the dead - Sorry if I didn't answer your mails/PM/whatever during the last few months.
