Ok, I'm considering today New Yesrs Day, and I'm making a resolution to deal with my OCD or whatever drives me to impulsively buy plugins like crazy. I think I have enough now and have definitely spent enough. I now have all my Rolands, Oberheims, Moogs, etc. covered, I have my drums and bass guitars and sample libraries covered, I have my DAWs covered and all my effects are there. But it seems I STILL check out the market for deals. Anyhow, I'm just wondering how many other plugin addicts are out there |

Well, the first thing men usually look at is a woman's rack Anyhow, I think I need to take time off from buying instruments and work on music theory. I have plenty of gear, juts need to work on making the most of it, but I'm a geek for this stuff, and need to step away from my wallet for a while |

I've always found freeware to be more adventurous(although the good stuff is rare), I couldn't play a MIDI guitar riff with anything mainstream. |

My name is Forrest and I am a VSTi junkie.
Honestly, though... I find myself seeking deals here all the time and my music making has dwindled. It takes longer for inspiration to take hold because I have so much crap to wade through... Synths, EQ's, Saturators, Delays, Compressors... As nice as it is to have options, it is hard to be happy, cause I don't really know any all that well. I used to be the happiest monkey with SuperWave P8, a Reverb VSTi and a midi keyboard... now I don't know where to begin or end. Now it is an endless search for the most advanced analog modeled circuit non-aliasing... blah, blah, blah. I truly believe that with all the vsti tools I do own, I could make a total hit song or anything for that matter (if I have the skill, patience and drive). However, the endless searching for that "perfect" pad sound has gotten me here. Could have made it over and over by this point. ---- This is what I make: atmastudios ---------------------- with everything you do, do it with love and respect. ---------------------- |

Well I have been on a buying spree after taking a few years off from KVR and electronic music-making, and previously I used freeware and what was bundled in Logic/Garageband and Ableton Live. So I figured i would build out my 'studio' and I think I'm done doing that, I wanted: a good Moog, a good Juno/Jupiter, an Oberheim, Trilogy (now Trilian) for bass, a good DAW, a good sample library, decent effects but nothing expensive/crazy, good drums, and I think now I've gotten all of that and more. I bought a lot used or on sale, overextended my slim budget big-time Regarding freeware, yeah there is much cool stuff out there but freeware is even worse because there is no limit to that searching |
