Hey folk,
hmm,
I have an odd one for this thread.
At home I have Tapco Thump bins,
They are 12"driver & mean,cutting little tweeter.
They are quite loud,
but nothing on guitar amps.
So, say,
I got a stereo pair of 2*12"
and two 6", if i can find small ones.
I would like to use these as playback from a mixer,
as I imagine the level would be intense enough.
This setup would be for my family's summer place.
What do I need to do to the signal to plug line-level
into guitar amps?
Also what amps do you reccomend for this task?
I am leaning to clean, but would like to be able to
switch tubes on.
If no amps do this-
I will seek solid-state.
this is a theoretical exercise for now-
but in future I would like to do this,
and swap my home hi-fi speakers.
The idea is to generate club-like levels if I want them.
I can use a mult, thankfully,
to split to 4 amps, hey.
Cheers 8D

what's cool is that because I had the metal and paint left over from when I did the boogie (which really needed work) to make the Jet City look like this cost me 85 cents, it would have been half of that but I bought 8 washers instead of 4.

Just the glow of it is worth that, the extra cooling doesn't hurt either Shrug

NICE!! I think maybe a small Jet City 333 badge on the grill would really look the part.

Laughing haha It is great for the valves as one gets alot of air flow to keep them from just cooking the top of the head which in turn makes them last longer also as a bonus. A front and rear grille is obviously going to the same thing plus protects them better Smile

Cheers man

tbh buying the metal grill last year was inspired by you and your marshall. I was bummed for a while about how my boogie looked and seeing your amp I was thinking about what you could do, then I realized that was the answer to the boogie. vespers told me about a place that sold the grill and the rest is history. From the day I ordered the Jet City I planned on doing this.

Peavey, no...no...no...hate the 333 HiHi

hibidy, that's my alter...if I'm ever on a stage again it's because I made a wrong turn from the rest room Wink

Fair enough. But IMO, it needs some sorta badge to set it of a bit. Maybe something of your own design?? But hey, if your happy with it just the way it is...Wink

cropped of course, this is what I use as an avatar other places. I found a cool site that sells pedal enclosures already painted in any configuration or size I might need cheap*, so I want to get nice enclosures for the pedals I have and will build and use water slide decals for labels with that as my trademark. So I could use waterslides on say a piece of black pickguard material for the amp. The thing is that costs money and before I spend any more on cosmetics I want to upgrade the tubes because that really matters more Smile

*in fact at general guitar Gadgets I can not get the enclosure and save within a dollar or two of the same enclosure painted and drilled

once again, my amp for my living room? My POD xt LIVE, connected to my laptop with the usb so I can control the xt from there and the output goes into my Bose Acoustic Wave...though I have only used it that way 2 or 3 times over the 6 or so months I have had rigged that way Laughing

I could have several such setups using my current equipment, but I wanted something completely uncomplicated.
I bought it yesterday, really great. Extremely good decision to buy this.
Might take it back for the bigger version, though. will decide in the next days.

I've finally made my mind up what Amp to go for...DRUM ROLL PLEASE The KVR Band ......

Well lets say I'm 99% sure this is the Amp I'm going for. It ticks most of the boxes for me, pretty compact, 3 channels, decent Fenderish clean (well it is made by Fender), crunch & right up to Metal Mayhem. Preamp Lineout, headphones out that mutes the speaker out (I've heard some recordings of the headphones out that sound very good)

The only main negative is that the clean & crunch channels share the same EQ pots. I really want the matching 212 cab too, you can attach the head to it & tilt the whole thing back. But I'm really pushing the budget as it is, so I'm gonna go for a cheapo 112 cab for now.
