I watched Doctor Who from 1965 on Netflix. Didn't recognize the Dr. He had a girl with a Sandra Dee hairdo and a Scottish guy in a kilt with him. I didn't like it but have to say, production values were light years ahead of American TV at the time. Some of the synth effects and video effects were stunning for the time. The start was this flowing vortex that slowly morphed into the doctor's face. I can only imagine what it looked like in color. Next ones are from 1974. That should be a treat.

Spearhead from Space.

No I watched Spearhead From Space yesterday. That was from 1970 and the Doctor was an older man. I enjoyed that one.

i dunno, earth has so much life for example, with so many various sounds that maybe by the virtue of numbers we win. i dont know the show so i cant really comment on how they made their decision, but in the known universe we probably do have the numbers over other planets, stars and such.

if they picked one sound from earth, depending on what they chose it could be argued that the sun for example has a much better sounding out?

its all about what we can hear from these outer places too and how we listen, a 100 years ago the only sound we knew where from earth, we could obviously theorise about the different sounds out there, but aside from the gamma radiation that all radios pick up we had no actual knowledge of those sounds and i would imagine that even now there are only a few sounds we can actually say we know.

but earth does have a lot to offer soundwise, its hard because we get too much of certain sounds, traffic and other machinery to truely appreciate the natural sounds or even the mechanical, if the mechanical where more rare they would be more appreciated i think.

i recently posted about moving out of the city, where i could constantly hear cars, buses, people and all that to the point it was making me ill, im not exactly in the country but im in a place that after dark actually goes quiet, the occassional car or if i listen hard i can hear a distant main road, but it sounds beautiful from this distance, akin to a seashore with washing sounds as traffic builds and fades.

i also have an electric station not too far away, i can walk over there and sit in the field nearby and hear the throbbing of the generator working away, again pretty nice, but i guess if i lived close enough that it was constant id either get sick of it or get to a point where i didnt notice it, both of which lose the beauty of it.

its how we listen and hear things.

i would like to see the show though (just to bring it back to what were watching lol)

thanks for letting me know the show exists Smile

I'm VERY upset the new season of The Universe is only on H2. Our wonderful cable company makes you pay extra for that. Netflix has it, but only the first 5 seasons.
In honor of the (bad) Dark Shadows movie, I watched Edward Scissorhands last night. (I'd like to pinpoint where exactly Tim Burton lost his way)
