All joking aside, looks like a cool product and I'm sure you guys will have it in due time. Just a little joshing around 'bout the delays.
If their intent is to make sure it's "ready", then you can't really argue with that mindset. Better than having something buggy or "not quite ready for primetime". I'm 99.9% certain it's not vaporware. |

looks like a mix of reaper and ableton.
for a vaporware it's pretty pricey as per listing here http://www.gear4music.com/Recording-and-Computers/Bitwig-Stu dio-Music-Production-and-Performance-Software/IS6 but looks interesting anyway |

For all the fun about their (too) early announcement, if it is worth the price it will do okay. I know Reaper is cheap and powerful (for the price anyway), but Bitwig does not appear to be competing for that market, so does not have to match that sort of price level. Well we've all seen what their 'soon' is.. I for one, would absolutely hate to find out what 'later' actually refers to in human years.. (as opposed to cat years?) |

Had not checked in on bitwig progress in a while so I went to the website and did not see any mention about pricing announced later. I have a feeling that they are busy adding many of the features that they planned on releasing later in the first edition. Companies like bitiwg have the luxury of getting immediate feedback on "prospective price" features etc. So they can change things as they see fit. ---- no purchase until everything goes to usb 3.0 and all hosts are 64 bit! |

I don't mind that the (beta) release will be postponed until it's ready, if that's to the benefit of the product. What makes me wary, is the (LennarDigital-esque) lack of communication towards potential customers. If that's the communication strategy they'll adopt for the rest of the product's lifetime, I'm not sure I want to be involved with it at all. Let's hope they'll release some info soon though. Anyway, back to sleep. ![]() |
