EPIC Series 1
Stretch That Note EPIC electro percussion and orchestral hits module. EPIC is a suite of six hard-hitting electro-percussion and orchestral kits driven by a Kontakt-compatible engine featuring four unique Warping Machines. GRID offers real-time stretching and compression for granular mayhem, SCUZZ and TIME WARP independently change playback speed or pitch while preserving transients to alter size or scale, while FORMANT implants vocal/robotic characteristics. The MOVEMENT module then lets you pan sounds in front, behind or even completely around you. You can also CRUMBLE samples bit by bit, add DARK grunge and AMBIENCE. Incredibly, all these features can be edited for each individual sound! The hundreds of raw EPIC samples have also been pre-treated using extensive processing for truly impressive results, even without these Machines in circuit. However, like all STN products, EPIC's real power lies in the layering process - you can stack and layer any of the EPIC modules and drumm kits to create really BIG sounds. EPIC - not only an electro-percussive sound module/sample library with effects and Warping Machines. It's a WEAPON! Please watch the Product Video Each module has its own 'Preset Video' that displays a random selection of samples so that you get a clear idea of the module's content. Add DruMM to the series and have a massive combination of Layered Drums without all the usual frequency hassles and processing. If you feel man enough, then add L.E.W.D - Low End Warp Device, the ultimate Low End Drum and Bass module to your beat production arsenal and rattle a nut or two! When layering the modules from different Series, please be aware that STN accept no liability for any emotional issues that may arise from the use of EPIC. There have been reports of users talking to themselves and using Sith language. This, however, has not been confirmed. EPIC modules are priced at $30 and each series costs $150! So it's running on your own engine and Kontakt is just "compatible"? It's not built with Kontakt and not using the Kontakt engine with maybe some scripted extensions? ---- TINY METAL IMPACT - UPDATE Mar 1st '13 - available for Kontakt 4.2+ I guess one could call lead poisoning an ironic death. |

No, it uses Kontakt's engines. However, Kontakt only allows for one instance of an engine/machine, but we coded it so a different engine could be used on each and every sample. This allows for creating different textures using all 4 engines at the same time.
The real trick here is how the samples have been constructed to allow for the modules to be used in layering mode, much like DruMM. |

Just a quick update: many have emailed me asking about the layering mode for EPIC. I created a video demonstrating the way the modules can layer with each other.
