Title says it all really.....I have limited knowledge in this area as i usually build my own drum components from drumatic3 and bits of clean drum machine samples (like the digital redux ones)and found sounds, now i'd like to experiment with some acoustic drums (kicks and snares specifically).
I'm very specifically looking for a sample pack preferably,no kontakt libraries or vsti's,i've looked into superior drummer or BFD as an investment at a later date but,for now am just looking for a sample pack purely for convenience Any help is greatly appreciated ---- It's all about the chef not about the kitchen |

See if you can get hold of an EZdrummer Lite license. It's pretty decent and you can upgrade it to the full EZdrummer and all it's expansions if you get on with it. |

Thanks for the suggestion tehlord i'll possibly look into it.
At the mo though using something like ez drummer seems like a bit of hindrance to my current work flow. I'm working primarily in audio in fl studio when it comes to drum sound design and, it seems a bit of an inconvenience to have some bloaty program with its main focus being arranging authentic drum patterns if, all am after is the actual samples of the kits etc. I do plan to invest in something like this at a later date as i'll be doing some more pop related stuff with a friend soonish but,for the time being i am specifically just looking for a sample pack of some sort. ---- It's all about the chef not about the kitchen |

there are several free acoustic drum kits available on the net that are very good. aside from one which I think is called "Big Mono" I can't think of any names right now, however drum sample recommendation threads are very common on KVR, so you will probably uncover several recommendations by searching the forum for threads on "recommend free acoustic drum samples" or something similar. ---- Signature blocked until somebody convinces me they aren't utterly pointless |

Sonor Drums is a Drum Rack for Ableton Live, which also includes all the samples as WAVs for those who don't use Live. You could check out the Tape Breaks packs too ... |

Hey TIMT,
Maybe try Sampletank Free from the IK site, and then pick up the Acoustic Drums Collection 2. It has some great acoustic kits for damn near any style, and now is only $10 at eSoundz.com. Check out the demo and sound list here: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4729 Here's a bigger, better demo, just click the "read more" button to right of Acoustic Drums 2 to get to it, and the drums in the Bass Collection demo are all from that lib too, and actually better examples than the Drums! http://www.ikmultimedia.com/xpansiontank/multisamples/ There's also a bunch of cool stuff that comes with Sampletank free from SampleMoog, Miroslav and Sonic Synth. REALLY nice. You can also beef up the ST drums using it's REALLY nice IK effects, just PM me and I'll give you the info. If you buy at eSoundz, refer a KVR member at checkout. It's free and makes folks day! Here's a list: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=217796 KVR/eSoundz: Xenobt Last edited by Xenobt on Sun May 20, 2012 6:30 pm; edited 1 time in total |
