A music box (also musical box) is a 19th/20th century automatic musical instrument that produces sounds by the use of a set of pins placed on a revolving cylinderor disc so as to pluck the tuned teeth (or lamellae) of a steel comb.
We sampled this music box in stereo with a matched pair of mics AKG 414. This instrument is free, we want to make gifts regularly because we love you. Enjoy your music box For Kontakt 3.5 or superior. Full version required. http://samples.wavesfactory.com/?p=1313 |

Excellent music box! It would be worth it at 1000x the price.
I threw a quick track together using it. Really simple, but I love the way it sounds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAfg44oxkVc |

It has no pre-roll like the Orange Tree Samples one, does it?
Still nice, a bit noisy (the demo), even on my crap PC speakers. But heck it's for free and I lost my ILIO Gothic Music box one, so why not. Generous offer indeed. |

Some of that noise is intentional. In addition to the crank sample, there's a sample with mechanical noises. I actually like it better that way since you can mix in as much or as little noise as you want, as opposed to OTS's music box which has the mechanical noises embedded in the "dirty" samples. |

Hm... maybe it is possible to contact OTS and ask for a share of the pre-roll mechanism? Best of both worlds? |

Thank so much for this library. It's awesome! ---- < Bill Bruford on King Crimson: This is a band where you get to play in weird time signatures and still stay in nice hotels > |

I do hear some hissing in the background, admittedly, but otherwise this is a fine free sample instrument. |
