In my evaluation, Bigseq covers the most ground and allows the most freedom for creativity. Why use a random FX mashup box when you can orchestrate exactly what you want, including polyrhythmic effects that play off eachother! |

Dubstation won (this month)
Do you have to run Bigseq via midi, or can it be used straight as an insert effect? (because I would love that) |

I love Replicant! And Discord, and BigSeq, and Eos..
Those, with Camelspace, can turn a single-note dronefest into the most chaotic electo-psychedelic buzzfest! ---- My bloggity blog: http://the-serpents-fang.blogspot.com/ Red Room Authors Page: http://redroom.com/member/edward-averill Tracktion 4 and proud of it! GO T4! |

I keep Replicant around for the subtle end of glitch/stutter.
+1 for drumloop variations. You dont always want a 400bpm stutter on your snare ya know? The way Replicant is set up it makes it easy to program in loooong cycles of subtle stuff. Thats how I use it anyway. For extreme stuff there are better choices imo. AD is pretty amazing. They have a big pile of exceptional plugs. They have a lot of brean n' butterish too, but they have some real stand outs. Eos is in my top three reverbs, if maybe a little specialized. Dr. Device creates instant awesome, although its maybe too distinctive. I usually work to make it sound not like itself. Automaton is almost totally unique. I dont know how anyone could be 'in to plugins' and not have it. Kombinat, a contender for the ever elusive multiband saturator/distorter crown... BigSeq is a seriously overlooked plug. Maybe I missed that hype. I got it on a whim and it is one of the most versatile little things I have. That one can go very subtle, or total mangle. I often end up using pretty simple chains in it, but it is great. |

Anyone here tried slix by de la Mancha? It covers similar ground to Replicant, but comes with 450 MB of drum loops, and it's on sale at the moment for $11.70. |

Yeah ... slix and loophole are both really useful. No-brainers with that 70% discount. |

I haven't had replicant yet. I have ricochet (pretty good) dubSTATION (freaking amazing) and kombinat (nice) and of course the free RR (didn't care for the pro one)
Dr Device should be in my arsonnel (maybe I'll cruise for a used copy ) and I really liked bigseq but sold it as it was too cpu intensive for my old computer (should look into that again......but dr device is first) Last edited by hibidy on Fri May 18, 2012 10:39 am; edited 1 time in total |

Forgot to mention...loving the Random button on Replicant and made a preset that sounded like a choir from heaven, but my click finger was too happy on the draw and I didn't save it... |

Gliko from Echotone is another favorite of mine ...

I was in heaven when I realised you could do that, hours of (seldomly) repeating, modulated bliss. ---- ()_() (O.o) (")(") |
