I'm using Studio One, and wondering if there is any sort of visualizer software that works as a plugin in a DAW. I know it is highly unlikely but thought it worth asking. In case this isn't the case, can anyone point me in the right direction for this in a general way? I'd like a one-stop app that I can take a sound file and have it render a visual 'screen saver' or whatever you call it and then allow me to save the output and use on Youtube. Free is best but cheap is fine too. Really crazy cool but more expensive tools would be a good option in the future, so I'd also like to hear about them. It seems like a worthy sort of addition to a DAW though IMO, I'd love to be able to create a 'lightshow' right in Studio One. Thanks in advance!

BTW I have G-Force but AFAIR the license says it is not for public performance or productions, so I don't believe I can use that. But something similar would be extremely cool.

I have been looking for that too Exclamation

I think PureData may have what you want but I havent had the time to try it yet.

I think Resolume also does that, but is far from cheap.

I got all excited seeing that Smile and found this:

But my version (most current) Reaper build doesn't have any visualization support apparently.

I sent an email to the G-Force developer asking if I could use that with my original music to make YouTube videos, so I'm hoping they get back to me. Not expecting a yes but it was worth a try.

I'm really surprised there is no easy 1-shot solution for this sort of thing out there currently.

Does anyone know of a video editor (ie. something like iMovie) that has a visualization plugin that reacts to music? I don't currently have a video editor, it would need to work with Core2Duo so pretty lightweight I guess, but I didn't really consider if this would be something available in a more robust editor. Probably a max of $100 would be in my price range.

OK, this isn't great, none of the visualizations are particularly good, but it is easy and a one-step process. I'm making my first video now and will post a link when it gets up on YouTube. The worst thing is the visualizations don't seem to be very influenced by the sound, but again, its free and one-step. IMO just having something to see may be good enough, it makes posting on FAcebook easier anyhow, as no extra permissions (like with Soundcloud) have to be enabled for whoever is viewing.

Good question. FL Studio has the ZGame editor Visualizer which does this, but afaik the programm is not avaiable as a vst-plugin, though the standalone is Open Source.
Another thing would be to use some visualizer plugin like MilkDrop or others out of the player and to use a video screen capture program as fraps.

FL Studio includes the ZGameEditor for this purpose, which works quite well and which seems to be available separately.

Edit: OK, 2 min to late Smile

I don't know - maybe ask the Reaper forum what's the score?

So is the zgameeditor a fl only plugins or is it a regular vsti? I imagine it would be possible to put something like that on the main output bus in any daw. If not it is another compelling reason to get flstudio.

It's a FL only Plugin. And then there's the standalone version, but I guess it takes time to go through this as it's primarily built for 3D games.

Yeah I don't think I'm up for tackling a game editor Smile Any other suggestions? How much is FLStudio again? Smile anyone have any videos they made using that?
