Xils Lab PolyKB II Player can be had from www.hellomusic.com for $20. Sometimes these things are one-day only, sometimes longer.

You'll need to set up an account with them in order to get to the deal page.

I think it's still up there. Accessories tend to stay longer. As an alternative, sweatwater has the same deal and has had for some time. It makes me wonder if they are affiliated. It's not a topic for here, but where does hello get there stuff from anyway, especially with them not being an authorized dealer for anything they sell. I'll leave off the question mark, but I guess any discussion could continue in the other thread.

Haven't tried these yet, but what's to lose?

Sonoma Wireworks has 200 mb of free drum samples. These are the same guys that brought you Drumcore and Kitcore. There are 5 sample packs on offer for free, and all samples are in .wav format.

http://www.sonomawireworks.com/news/2012-05.php#discrete-fre e

Other bargains at that address as well.

Cheers

EDIT:
Hmmm. It seems that there are some strings attached. You are asked to "pay" for the loops with a Tweet or a Facebook post. Frankly, the protocol was a little confusing to me, so I skipped it. I would have rather paid a couple of bucks. Oh, well. YMMV.

They may be Apple Loops format, readable only by Garage Band and Logic.

For those from countries that do not pay VAT it is slightly cheaper (£23 vs £25) direct from Zero G here

For those in countries that pay VAT, then Time and Space is cheaper (£25 v £27)

They are AIFF format

Is there a difference between the PolyKB II player, and the PolyKB Computer Music edition that was given away free with that magazine recently?

For Kontakt 4.2.3.4914 and higher.

Oh! Notice that getting this involves Facebook, for those allergic to it.
