Inspiration

...and how to do so...

Don't know if this topic has wings or not but thought it may be handy/useful/inspiring to highlight DIY sites of note you've found around the web. Not strictly physical resources (the other thread covers those), more sites that just make you go wow/cool/whatever and fire up a few inspiration synapses.

For instance:

http://www.groenewoudnet.nl/?page_id=15

Many diy projects; repackaging old synths, homemade spring reverbs, plate reverbs etc.

Post

not a site, so probably not what youre after, but joe meeks bold techniques has some notes/info about his "black box reverb" admittedly not much, but it inspired me to grab and old wooden box and hang a slinky in it :hihi:
i havent gotten round to incorporating ins and outs yet, so other than hitting it and gooing "ooh!" at the lovely spring noise it aint a hella lot of use.

Videos of lectures from some very prestigious universities - topics like electronics and maths are available among others.

made it a sticky for now, I might merge it with the resource sticky or split both...but for now I'll leave it as a sticky. :)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Thanks Hink.

Yeah, exactly this. Things that make you want to get your hands dirty, like Vurts post.

Thanks for all the links, will plough through them later...

This probably sounds like a joke, but I generally watch hardcore pornography while I make music. The intensity can be very inspiring.

okay :scared: :hihi: but seriously, not that it's a big deal, still this really belongs in everything else or another forum as this is the 'do it yourself' forum (again, no big deal we all do it and you're new here). However if you enjoy building things while watching porn that's another story and all I can say is be careful when using power tools :o
