Can anyone recommend a decent 64-bit audio editor that accepts VST plugins for processing? All info appreciated! Smile

What do you need 64 bit for in an audio editor? Effect plugins don't need that much memory...(Or if they do, you probably are using some broken plugins...)

Other than using a host, I don't know if there is one. I think soundforge is still 32 isn't it?

Don't know how much that one has evolved since I last checked it.

I do all my audio editing inside Reaper, see no use for another standalone application.

Sound Forge is indeed 32-bit, at least the low-end version I'm using is.

Thing is, all my plugins are 64 bit now and shared between Reaper and Orion. Re-registering the 32-bit versions of the tons of plugins I have would be painful, and I'm starting to hit the limits of what I can do with my field recordings with SF Studio. Confused

I'll check into Wavelab - thanks!

Not really. Razz It's WAY faster to load a wave into SF, trim it, crossfade it, and export to use in one of my VSTi than to do the same with Reaper. Sure, it CAN be done, but it's more cumbersome (for me).

Horses for courses! HiHi

I'm not hideously worried about that part! Wink

Turns out Wavelab SE came with my Zoom H2N, I'm going to give it a spin this weekend. Very Happy
