EDIT: Discount applied! Those who submit an entry will get a 50% discount on the soundset, after the entry is submitted. That means those who buy or have bought Luftrum 8 and contributes with a track to the challenge, will get a refund after the entry is submitted.

Hi and welcome to the Luftrum Animoog challenge.

The goal is to create a track based on the sounds from Luftrum 8 - Soundset for Animoog. No other sounds, synth or external effects are allowed. The track can be any style or genre. You are allowed to submit one track to the challenge and the track must be no longer than 5 minutes in length.

The winner will receive the prize of 300$ in cash to either a PayPal or bank account. You must own a legit copy of Luftrum 8 to participate and I reserve the right to use entries for future promotion. The challenge starts now and entries must be submitted no later than Monday June 18th.

I need your track as a high quality mp3 in this format "Artist Name - Track Title" and I will then publish the track to my SoundCloud profile. The winner is the one entry who has received the most favourites in my SoundCloud set, on Friday June 22nd 10:00 AM KVR Time. Important: It is the fav's in my SoundCloud set that counts, fav's on you own SoundCloud profile (in case you submit such) does not count!

http://soundcloud.com/luftrum-1/luftrum-8-soundset-for-animo og

Rules below.

You are allowed to:

- Export and arrange the sounds from Luftrum 8 in your favourite DAW
- Play the sounds with external MIDI keyboard
- Use external drums to create a beat. You must specify the origin of the drums.
- Use a vocalist or an acapella sample on the track. You must specify the origin of the vocals.
- Normalize the final track with EQ, amplification and compression.

You are not allowed to:

- Use any external sounds, synth or samples as part of the track.
- Use any external effects ie. reverb, delay, flanger, distortion etc. on the track
- Modify the Luftrum 8 presets so they become un-recognizable from their original sound (ie. slightly adjusting the attack of a slow starting pad is okay, but completely removing the attack on a slow starting pad is not okay)

The winner has the option to give the prize to charity instead. If he/she chooses that option, the prize will be increased to 500$ and sponsors who want to add to the charity pool are very welcome. There's no pressure for the charity option, it's simply an alternative to the prize. The winner alone chooses the charity to receive the prize.

Welcome to the Luftrum Animoog challenge.

Send your track to luftrum (a) luftrum.com. I am looking forward to hear the entries. Smile

Regarding exporting the sounds to a DAW, that includes normal DAW's on PC and Mac of course - it's not limited to iOS based DAW's.

External effects are allowed on the vocal as long as the effect doesn't alter the original vocal to the extreme ie. timestretching to make the vocal sound like a pad is not okay. Slight use of reverb and delay is okay. Smile

The first entry is in! It's a really great cover originally written by The Everly Brothers and dare I say, made famous by A-Ha? Nevertheless, here I present to you the first entry to the Luftrum Animoog Challenge:

Joe McGinty - Crying In The Rain

Vocals: Ivana XL.
Drums: Conn Electric Band

This is very nice. Thanks.

I am trying to figure out how best to record and sequence things. I have not figured out the best way yet. Animoog's internal recorder is too short so it may require a bunch of audio copy/pastes which will be a lot of work.

I do have Genome and external sequencer options. I just need to think this through. I do want to enter something, but we shall see.

I don't have the sound bank. Might give it a whirl at $19. Problem is though I don't think there is any patch management on the Animoog is there?! So once I put the sounds on I won't know which ones are yours and which were already there! Confused

No problem friend, all my presets have LUF as the first three letters - so they are nicely sorted under L Smile
