I really think the key to this sound is somewhere in the soundsource special articulations pick release, I'm messing with that and getting close but no cigar yet.
Also TR-Rock Pick Full Range is the soundsource I'm using. Any other recommendations there? I also put a wah wah on out-filter on the sound, I think that something like that must have been in the original Blue Monday bass sound. |

Boy there is a whole lot of trash talk in this thread. Seems to me that the correct chorus fx is a big part of his sound. I'm not sure omni is the best source bass for this though. ---- iMac 2012 27" 3.4/32gb ram/768ssd/Thunderbolt Velociraptors/ Motu 828mkii Hybrid/Novation Impulse/Marantz/Amphion/Logic/Omnsiphere-Trilian-Stulus-Kontakt,etc. |

Trilian is doing just fine, it is more about tuning in the sound design. I am really appreciating the envelope editor for one thing. And the Chorus is definitely good enough to get the sound. It is more the articulations IMO that are tricky, the right amount of noise without being noisy too. |

I don't think Trilian can get the sound you are after. To help you cope with this sad news I'm willing to buy Trilian from you for $50. |

Why do you have to use Trilian? There are plenty of Rickenbacker bass samples out there and that might provide a better starting point.
You'll never get it entirely accurate without using a bass guitar, but I think you'd have more success if you started with samples of the real thing. |

You'll never get it entirely accurate without using a bass guitar, but I think you'd have more success if you started with samples of the real thing. Peter Hook for most of his career used an active-pickup Yamaha P-bass-style guitar. Trilian is fine regarding the 'starting point' the devil is in the details, and regarding those details Trilian gives plenty of ways to get you there. |

And you don't HAVE to use Trilian obviously, this was a 'challenge' to make this sound specifically in Trilian. I'm not actively trying myself right now, I made a pseudo version but moved on to other things already |
