BWF and IXML metadata are used for description purpose. I found it especially useful when dealing with large libraries of audio samples to manage different types of sound (instrument/drum/bd, ambiance/street/cars for "category" ex., or samplerate to clearly identify which sounds can be used without resampling in your project).
As it's a common standard, it can be read by others using different softwares. It's far from perfect as anybody could have his own requirements for tag fields, but numerous softs use this. Having this directly in audio editor could speed up workflow. There's a recent opensource project that deals with this called BWF MetaEdit, initiated by FADGI. This could be a good option, even if it's not mandatory nor the priority for an audio editor |

The great new feature is the multi channel editing support. Also, AC3 and DTS audio files are now supported. Woah ! Excellent. I like the possibility to process only a selection in a specific channel. Perhaps, later, also non following channels (for example 2 and 6) ? It seems that now only 6 channels files are supported. Do you intend do extend it to 7.1 and more ? And, of course, ASIO, which would be helpful for multichannel ? |

Ocenaudio is working well here with a 64-bits Windows 7 OS. It looks great & I'm happy about the features. Very good work. |

As far as I can see you cannot record higher than 2 channels so I am guessing you can only edit imported multichannel waves at this stage. Are there plans for multichannel as a recording option? |

I have a Mac with the Lion OS (10.7). When after installation of the Ocenaudio (last beta 17) I put check at VST folders in Preferences to scan them and then restart the app as it asks, it crashes on the next opening after the error message about whether I want to restore previous windows or open new. Anybody with the same? |

We added multichannel recording in our roadmap, but we can't say when this feature will be available. ---- Download ocenaudio here for free http://www.ocenaudio.com.br Check out the fan page http://www.facebook.com/ocenaudio |

I love this editor. I always found Audacity repulsive, so this is a breath of fresh air. The interface and workflow so far are excellent and I'm glad a couple guys on here made note of some features that may have otherwise gone unnoticed.
I have a couple requests (do you prefer them on here or your site?) A Tab-to-transient and zero crossing shortcut. Ability to change the temp directory. My C:\ drive is already near the brim and I have a special partition for temp files (I tried to change it in the registry but don't think it's available). I installed the new version to a different drive but it didn't make a difference. Also, just out of curiosity, it may not be a small feat but do you plan on having spectral editing? Anyways, thanks for the free program and keep up the great work! |

These shortcut will be added in the next release. mooter wrote: Ability to change the temp directory.
In Windows, ocenaudio uses Windows API to request to temp folder. According with Microsoft Documentation, the following order is used to search the temp path: 1. The path specified by the TMP environment variable. 2. The path specified by the TEMP environment variable. 3. The path specified by the USERPROFILE environment variable. 4. The Windows directory. mooter wrote: do you plan on having spectral editing?
Not in the short term. This feature requires a lot of code to be implemented and we are planning some minor features in a short term. ---- Download ocenaudio here for free http://www.ocenaudio.com.br Check out the fan page http://www.facebook.com/ocenaudio |

Ah, I changed my temp dirs long ago but at some point they went back to default.
Anyway, thanks, much appreciated! |

I'm on OS X Lion 10.7.5 and Ocenaudio V2 Beta 25 build 4363 keeps crashing and/or quitting on me. It's never been this bad. Strange. |
