Hi sugarbytes,

nothing i guess prevents me from using a controller app.. I mean most of the functions are mapped on my midi keyboard already.. but, as far as changing parameters in the sequencer like the notes, velocity, gate, etc.. I don't know how to map those and the interface is a bit small for me.. i was thinking like some app so you can move those parameters with like a slider of some sort.. if it's midi mappable, can you explain.. maybe i'm doing something wrong but it does not show up in ableton.. maybe it's different for the controller apps? which one do you recommend?

I am not so familiar with the remote apps, i think that touch osc is the most common app for such things.
In fact every step from the pitch/velocity/gatelength sequencer in Thesys is midi learnable (right click on the step).
So you just have to set everything up once either on a app or on your keyboard.

TouchOSC or Lemur is probably the best way to go.

I think it would be great to have an app on iPad that looked just like Thesys but only sent control info to/from the actual app on the pc. Most certainly a control interface could be done with Lemur though not sure if you can get it to look like Thesys.

yes it worked.. took maybe half an hour to make a template to control note, gate, velocity.. was it worth it? no...

i get random crashes when making changes on the ipad, so I'm thinking there's a bug somewhere with the Lemur daemon and ableton.. didn't try and investigate any further..

BTW:

Ableton 8.2.6
OSX 10.6.8
latest Lemur version..

I missed this first time around but I think its a great idea. i think the app really lends itself to a more hands on approach. Please come back and let us know if you get the Lemur app to work for you. Thanks.
