Yes yes...we all know Sampletank and it's sisters are great!

Which is why it's still so shocking that it's taken so long for even an UPDATE. There are some very consistent complaints against the software that have been flowing for YEARS (not the lest of which are the GUI issues).

It's been more than enough time for IK to develop the next version. Even a release of a simple plugin update to version 3 that uses the old libraries would garner some good faith (release the ST3 libraries later) with the community.

It's just taking too long...people are getting frustrated...meanwhile IK released a new iPhone microphone today...Woo! I can record myself on my phone!! Uh...again!

I'm sure a ST3 update with the old libraries would increase the perceived value dramatically. It is like a computer running simple UNIX or DOS, sure it is useful and powerful but for many it is inaccessible. Updating the core app would probably give you lots of business without the need for all these fire sales which doesn't add to the image of your product line. It may be harder in the future to ask for a higher price when everyone is expecting you to cut crazy deals.

IK, in my opinion, is a ipad/iphone app/hardware developer... period!!! IK knows there are hundreds of producers/music makers are born everyday... these bundle sales are gear towards these individuals... the development of Sampletank has paid for itself over and over again... every sale at this point is gravy... i.e. $200 for the bundle and 2000 buyer is $400000 clear profit. no development cost at all. they pay a few guy to come on the internet to pump the product up... you need sounds? here are 28 GB worth for $200... if IK was serious about Sampletank 3 it would be out today... really, what extra valued technology will Sampletank 3 have that kontakt, Mach 5, or Halion Sonic does not have?

the Sampletank 3 is coming... is a way to keep old IK customers interested in the company... while they cater to these hundreds of producers/music makers that have been born recently!!! i.e. hang in there old IK customers... Sampletank 3 is coming... but you new music makers... we have a deal for you!!! by the way... check out our webpage... we have the latest ipad/iphone apps/hardware... but Sampletank 3 is coming!!! just be patient and buy some ipad/iphone apps/hardware products... build up your points while you wait for Sampletank 3!!!

You've hit the nail, think... as I'm sure many have before. For ST3 to be successful, they have to come out with some freakin' awesome piece of software + content... Like, as cool as Kontakt scripting is, ST3 needs features that no less than match that level of coolness and utility. 40GB library? Our library goes up to 100GB!!! etc. etc. If not, the risks of disinterested consumers are obvious. The competitive landscape today far exceeds what they would have had to deal w/ 11 years ago or however long it's been. How many Komplete owners will jump on ST3? I mean it has to be totally worth it to keep dropping $200 here, $300 there...

Hate to say it, I think you can make a helluvalotmore money spitting out iThings compared to developing, distributing, and supporting a massive piece of complex Mac/PC software marketed to a relatively small sub-market of the overall DAW market...

When SampleTank 3 is released it will have all the features you guys have been mentioning and more. We are HARD at work on the next generation of SampleTank which will bring new features and an entirely new sound library.

I think people are tired of hearing that from the dev's, no offense, but this isn't a 1-2 year hiatus from a dev, this is many, many, many YEARS without a decent update!!!
IK keeps pushing these deals here @ Kvr, that get really old.. You want ME to buy the sounds without the ability to play them unless I wear my Grandpas glasses from 1950?

Sorry guys, but the tone of the majority is right, we wanna see something, in the flesh.

Record myself with an ipad, iphone, they are serious right? So I go out and spend over $3,000 on just my AD/and Preamp, but for some strange reason the iphone/IK gadgets got me covered right? I mean who recording is even thinking like this? a 12year old?

No offense, but this is the slap in the face
your semi pro, or professional customers are talking about, it feels like you just aren't with us anymore..

And if so, PROVE IT, show your loyal customers the work, the reason we've been waiting so long, or waiting to get noticed, while the next hip hop rock stars are the main ingredient apparently getting all the focus.. WAIT -> Sometimes it ain't all about the benjamins, and it's about loyalty FOCKER... You are now out of my circle of trust..

UNTIL you show me something good!

Today was a special day - I had no real problems to worry about in my life so I went on the internet to complain about how out-of-date my sampler is, in a very angry way.
