A reference session using 21 instances of OP-X PRO-II for everything including drums, bass, synth and effects. Here's a video demo performed in 4 sequencers and 2 systems:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sHhcAe5MaA The session can be downloaded here: http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro2/description.html#perform ance Available formats: - Ableton Live 8 - Steinberg Cubase 5 - Avid Protools 8 - Cockos Reaper 3 - Multitrack MIDI & soundbank (for manual setup in other sequencers) Since no other plugins or any other processing is involved you just need to have installed OP-X PRO-II, full or demo. Demo version available here: http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro2/freedemo.html Measured total load: Core 2 Duo E2700 2,53 GHz, onboard sound with asio4all @ 512 samples: Cockos Reaper 3.7.2: about 50% Ableton Live 8.2.2: about 50% Core i7 920 2,66 gHz, RME HDSP 9632 @ 256 samples: Ableton Live 8.2.2: about 10% Steinberg Cubase 5.0.1: about 12% Core i7 920 2,66 GHz, M-Audio Delta 2496 @ 256 samples Avid Protools 8.0.1 M-Powered, using Fxpansion adapter for wrapping: about 25% Would be interesting to know what's the load in your system. Have much fun testing! EDIT: Reaper 4.22 x64 64 bit performance test: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2RoFBvPisc --- Last edited by Peter999 on Sat Jun 09, 2012 7:10 am; edited 1 time in total |

64-bit coming soon? I really want to buy this, but no 32-bit ever again for me. ---- "It is better to compose than decompose." Whenever Synthedit goes 64-bit, I suppose OPX will, as well. |

It's a little hard to get an average CPU consumption number since it fluctuates quite a bit. For instance @ 256 samples, it starts at about 7% and peaks around 13% in the second half of the song.
The numbers on my DAW: Core i7 2600K @ 3.4 GHz, RME HDSP 9632, Cubase 5.5.3 @ 32 samples: 17-35 % @ 64 samples: 12-25 % @ 128 samples: 10-18 % @ 256 samples: 7-13 % (Edit: percentages above as seen in Task Manager) Not bad for a complete song by only OP-X PRO-II's. Thanks to a fast machine and low CPU consumption for a quality vsti as OP-X PRO-II is. ---- How can I get that mp3-player out of my brain?! Yes, of course it varies since OP-X PRO-II only produces load when it's actually playing (the idle load is very low).
So I'd say the maximum will be around 1:10 since here the most instances are fed by MIDI at the same time. |

On the cubase performance meter 25-40%.
In task manager 12-20% cubase 5.5.3 x64 PC i7920 Focusrite scarlet 8i6 usb interface; output latency 28.223ms. the cubase level meter peaked at +10.7 |

Thanks for posting Seems the RME still is the performance winner amongst the soundcards |

I almost got a rme 9632.But, how long will the pci slots be around?
Will it work with my Motherboard? Will I have IRQ issues?I'm gonna test with my delta 1010. Peter, Did you do any limiting, when you rendered the session? I'm getting +10dbfs on the master. |

This can't be right. It's taking 5 minutes to load this project in Reaper 4 with 50 megabytes per OPX instance (1 gig of memory hit). I am also seeing up to 80% cpu on a dual core AMD athlon 64 x2 3 ghz. |
