Tricky can correct me if im wrong, but im assuming he ment the Electro Bass Landscapes, which you posted as free just recently. I had to go back and find the thread to make sure i didnt download some payware, when i thought it was free (havent checked it out yet). For others who have tried this, do the toolbars still get installed when you tell the installer not to install them? Are toolbar files copied over dorment or something (ala-avast-asktoolbar)? Thanks in advance. |

SyncerSoft wrote: ![]() This looked different here; first I had to uncheck 3 very small checkboxes after confirming the first installation window, to not install the first toolbar, than a second toolbar installation window came up where I had to click "decline" on the left side (instead the default button on the right). I installed in a sandbox of coarse, because the attempt to unpack the .exe installer with uniextract (always my first way with plugin installers) resulted in an unuseable .dll file. That I deleted the plugin after testing because I don't find it special or useable may be my personal taste, but plugin .exe installers and toolbars will keep me (and I think many others) away from your plugins for a long time; just think about it..... |

+1 There is no logical link between the plug and the bar, so why should they be installed together? I immediately suspect foul play. Perhaps the developer would like to explain why he thinks anyone would want that bar and why he tries to force-feed it to everyone who shows an interest in the plugin. |

At least the toolbar install option should be disabled by default!!
It would be more respectful though to sell them for let's say $5 (or "pay what you want" option) instead of releasing them as freeware with optional toolbar. |

I am not going near any plug-in that installs toolbars. Seriously, f*ck any company that does that. I got that Babylon sh*t trying to install a vinyl plug-in recently. Yeah asshole, I want my drum tracks to sound like vinyl and my browser overridden by sh*tf*ck-ware at the same time . You're totally right. (sorry for the foul language but it got me really pissed off ps. this rant was not directed towards SyncerSoft because I didn't install any of your software. It was a general observation |

Thanks for the 3 latest plugins. Much appreciated.
I was aware of the toolbar installer issue as you had posted this on the Crash now Free VST thread; Quote: Program will offer you to install toolbars, you can accept them to help developer or decline it.
I think it fair that you warn people in your initial posting in each thread where you use this strategy. Fortunately BTNetProtect/McAfee dealt with it easily as I didn't require the toolbar. ---- Dripfeed |

P.S. Bass Landscapes is NOT FREE plu'in. If you use CRACKED version what issues? Obviously I've meant the FREE "Electro Bass Landscapes" VSTi. I haven't any cracked version! Even if I could, I wouldn't crack a simple synth for $10! I have deleted all new free plugins from you, just because I don't need them. I wish you much fun with Synthedit! Make better software without toolbars (like in the past), and everything will be fine! |

![]() What a shame that users of free vsti's never donate any money with help of Paypal donation button. 100 000 visitors - 2 donations. So now we have equal shame - users and creators of programs. Good Balance More free toolbars with vsti's at www.goodkarma.ru/softrave.htm |

An installer for a free Synth Edit plugin.....that also tries to install third party crap? Ridiculous.

That is completely true drtikov. I'm the first one to complain against toolbars, however this "case" have changed my mind somewhat. If it does help a developer, so be it. I hope installing it in the VirtualBox or SandBox helps, too. Is the installation enough? Not using it? If the installation is enough, then I will always install it in the VirtualBox, why not? Everything gets deleted as soon as I close the VirtualBox, though, and my main OS remains intact. You should tell us what's needed for you to make a buck, and I will help you wholeheartedly, but no "games" please! Be honest. If so little effort from us can put bread on your table, so why not?! And I do like Electro Bass Landscapes, even though I'm aware that's only a simple SynthEdit creation with a collection of bass samples from who knows where. But we should always get an option to install it or not, for the [kinda dumb] people who install stuff on their main DAW computers. You should at least get some very cheap second hand computer to test things on IMHO, if you don't know how to use VirtualBox or SandBox, or VirtualPC [all free apps]. It's always best to install outside your main DAW and transfer the program manually later as lots of programs install so much unnecessary things, it's appalling. I started this practice as soon as the MS VirtualPC was out sometime in the early 2000s... since then I always have some kind of a Virtual OS installed. It's such a blessing not to worry about what happens to it. I even browse from it most of the time, because you never know... people get more greedy and vile with each passing day, and they start to understand the Internet and the power of an "install program" - exe file which is packed, which is so obvious with this "case"... Times change, and we have to adjust to them, eh? Cheers! |
