Surprising that TRUC2 mini works like a stereo in, 4x stereo out "mixing console" within FLStudio. In Cubase it does not work like that and needs a modular host like MetaPlugin or eXT. Maybe you interpret that for the limitations of certain hosts? Cubase for example can only use 6 discrete audio channels per channel strip, Nuendo IIRC 8. Modular hosts sometimes unlimited (between input/output). Another idea that came to mind is "Insert Piz Here". Initially I thought they had an X/Y pad for audio as well, but you could still use their tool "midiPads" for crossfading. It's harder to setup however (MIDI messages) and I don't know if it could be pulled off as needed, but I don't know of other solutions. I was under the impression from the notes in the VST SDK that 6 was the limit, but I suppose it might be a host limitation. ---- ![]() |

Still a bargain for 7bucks. Do yourself a favor and get FLStudio, and you can use it as a VST. You can route any mixer track to any other mixer track, as long as it doesn't feedback. cubase can do that as well. the thing is, how do you take the various output feeds of a multi-out vst on an insert inside FL and route those (4 pairs of outputs) to different channels? |

The problem is that FLStudio loads as a VSTi, so you can't route in it audio from a Cubase audio track. It can only process MIDI information. |

You need to use the VST wrapper settings
http://www.image-line.com/support/FLHelp/html/plugins/wrappe r_2_settings.htm Hope that helps |

I haven't tested it yet to be honest with multichannel channel strips (like 6.0), but "send FX" and forwarding to other groups were a pain with the initial tests I did. Even with creating virtual channels in the group channel (the old sidechain trick). Your best bet is to work within the modular environment. But you have the issue with the 2.0 output unless you use 6.0 - but then you need to mess with the routing. Either way, this tool is fun for creative sound design. |

thanks to all for their suggestions.
i haven't found exactly what i'd wanted, but stumbled upon some very cool plugins/concepts along the way, as it often happens. vstforx in particular enabled me to _almost_ achieve what i'd wanted. that program still has some room for development in terms of user interface/experience, but it offers some very creative native modules i haven't seen in similar plugins (in the DDMF and vstboard; i haven't tried bidule yet). vstboard on the other hand is very ergonomical; the way it automatically connects plugin modules and re-wires the cables as you insert modules in between existing modules is a time-saver; and it's free on top of that! with regard to "Insert Piz Here" (another suggested vst)-- i wasn't able to figure out which plugin or a combo of plugins would perform what i wanted to... anyway, thanks again and if you have more suggestions, keep them coming. |
