Hello,

Its been a few months since I posted anything here. I put this track together over the last week or so. A few of those days I was sick at home. Who gets sick in the summer? Me! Blah... anyway, this track was fun to make. It is electronic, I have no idea what genre.

or on SoundCloud;

Thanks,

Steven.

A helluva lot of groovy syncopated fun going on here... quite enjoyed it Steven!

What synth are you using for bass, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks! I'm glad it was enjoyable. I certainly had fun making it (in-between blowing my nose, popping cough drops and ibuprofen).

The bass sound was a modified bass preset from U-he Zebra 2. The modification came in the form of mildly bit crushing selected notes in the bassline to make those particular notes rougher sounding. Smile

@Morgaxx: Thanks for listening! Very Happy

Drug-fuelled Latin glitch crossover Laughing It feels slightly wild in a laid-back way. Good sounds on here, Steven. Like Matt says, that bass synth sounds very good and I like the way the higher register synth sounds pop out of the stereo field.

Nice work Cool

That's an idea I'll have to try.

Did you select certain notes to be distorted each time, or was it done randomly?

@Seismic1;

Thanks man! I swear I was sober, and I am Hispanic, but wasn't going for a latin sound. I understand the glitch part Smile The higher register synth sounds were spread in the stereo field first with a little L/R channel panning, and then more with Flux Stereo tool. (used to be a free VST, I don't know if it still is).

@Laguna Rising and HellFog;

Glad you liked it Laguna. The build up in the first part is the part I like best. I agree with HellFog, it does lose something after that. I was thinking of re-arranging the second half, mixing up some of the sequences and maybe bringing in a new element, but I had a few other things on the table I wanted to work on and took the easy way out with this. In retrospect, I should have taken care of that.

@Fate,

Thanks for the listen. Smile

@Polyslax

No problem!

@Rockstar_not

The same notes were selected each time to distort. I tried randomizing it, but the variance seemed to distracting with everything else that was going on. Thanks for listening Cool

I was picking up a latin groove from some of the rhythmic interplay between the percs and synths. I thought it was quite sexy Cool

Very cool. There's a slight brokenness (or bentness) to a lot of the sounds here that I quite like. Thanks.
