Zebra2 main grid: can a VCF process the sum of two different lanes?

Hello,

I'm digging the world of Zebra2, and, while tweaking a patch, I tried to do something like this in main grid:

Lane 1 = OSC1 + VCF1
Lane 2 = OSC2 + VCF2

I'd like the output of VCF2 be inserted in VCF1 (that is, summed to OSC1) so that VCF1 processes the sum of OSC1 and (OSC2 + VCF2).
I tried, but it seems VCFs only accept one input.

Or am I missing something trivial?
Thanks,
Mario

Use Mix1 module in lane 1, right-click it and set to Sidechain 2, put this before VCF1.

First off, why don't you use just one lane:

OSC1->VCF1->OSC2->VCF2

This way the output of VCF1 and OSC2 are summed and fed into VCF2 Cool

(it's one of the things to get used to in Zebra that the Grid distinguishes between modules that "add" or "mix into" a lane, like oscillators, while other modules "modify" what's on the lane, like filters)

Otherwise, do this:

OSC1->VCF1 on one lane
OSC2->CannelMix->VCF2 on second lane, with ChannelMix set to 50%, taking input from other lane

Cheers,

You can add a "mod mixer" module to your setup there.

Heh I need to get my head around that, if I use 3 oscillators I just want to put them on 3 lanes... there's no need is there Smile

I used to find this confusing until I learned to think of the oscillators as adding their output to whatever is already there, as opposed to being shrouded in silence, as most (digital) oscillators are.
