I hear a lot of complaints about Live but I also have heard it praised for years for many reasons. I am currently a Sonar/Reason user and Sonar X1 just does not like rewire unless I use the rewire vst which at times can be annoying. Are there any real issues still going on in Live or have most of them been fixed minus the whole 64 bit and not being updated in 4 years things? |

Try the demo. The 64-bit thing is what annoys me... Even though I've moved to Logic, I still use Live for time stretching and manipulating sounds. |

Live is a great program. I write in Live as much as I do Digital Performer and Logic before it.
It's streamlined not unlike Reason, and works well with Reason. IMO for simple adjusting of beats nothing is as easy as Live. For coming up with a verse and chorus nothing is as easy as Live. For surgical editing of MIDI or constructing complex arrangements with external hardware Digital Performer, Sonar, Logic, Cubase etc. are all going to be a better choice. |

I like it. Its really simple and does exactly what I am looking for. As long as 32 bit is the only problem (not a big deal to me right now) then I will run with it. |

I am debating on grabbing a minibrute what about using external hardware instruments is difficult in Live vs others? I have only really used Sonar for external stuff and I have sold most of my hardware stuff but its good to know before I dive in. As far as Reason. I love Reason always have. Reason is a big part of my production. It's streamlined not unlike Reason, and works well with Reason. IMO for simple adjusting of beats nothing is as easy as Live. Logic is $199. Excluding cost of acquiring Mac. Perhaps we should add the price of a PC to the cost of buying Sonar too? ---- My free patches here http://fingermarks.co.uk/music2.htm My Soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/amused ![]() |

I just have Live Lite, which I like a lot, and have been using for years.
I don't make much music though. You should try getting whatever Lite version of Live there is, first. If you like that, then I believe they have an upgrade option as well. |

It's because Live 9 is going to be released soon ?!?!?
I do want to buy Ableton Live. I was waiting for version 9 to be released. So I'm trying to find out if I should buy the 8 version now for the lower price, and later the update to 9. Will I save money? Do they make any special price when it comes out. Or is there a better option? or another place to buy The economy on my country is all f**ked up, there are no jobs and I'm not going to make any money with this. So this is a very serious question to me Thanks!! |
