Inspire a generation, well-chosen slogan for one of the biggest world wide gatherings of the year, London 2012, Olympic events. Being a part of this international act is anyone's biggest honor, where you find the chance to see the world come together in peace and fairly compete for the golden aim of international understanding.

On the 50th day to the beginning of the London 2012 Olympics we would like to present to you our new single "All In Our Hands" which I have exclusively written for this great event and dedicate it to all of the athletes and people who have been inspired by this international act for watching the most precious moments to shine.

The song is written and produced by me on the beautiful lyrics of my dearest friend Lucy Prasad. The song is a combination of electronic pop and dance music while having the British music influences and with bagpipes playing the melodies in the background as a tribute to the location of the Olympic Games this year.

As this is the third time London has been chosen to host the Olympic Games, it turned out to be a special coincidence that the length of the song is 3:33 minutes.

See you all in the London 2012, Grand Opening festival.
Love all, Rick.

Hi Rick

I'll try to give your song a short but honest critique.

Your singing is very good.
The lyrics are fine for what is really a celebratory parade sort of song.
Your production is overall well done with nice effects, but I think that you may have cut some of the warmth / lower frequencies out of a few of the instruments too much, as the mix sounds a tad thin sounding.

I think that the arrangement could be more exciting, as the drums seem a bit static and the bouncy, major structure gets irritating after about 1 minute - maybe chuck in a minor bridge or make a bigger harmonic difference between the verses and chorus to keep the listener's attention from drifting.

Overall a good effort for what actually is quite a hard task to do - writing a celebratory song and lyrics for a major event - as it's hard to avoid sounding a bit cheesey when doing so.
I'd be more interested in hearing some of your 'normal' music though to see what sort of artist you are away from London Olympic anthems.

Cool - I hope you get some honest and serious replies from other KVR members too Rick.

Thank you for the PM and the couple of additional songs that you sent me. Your singing is brilliant in them and the production is top notch. (The cover of 'Hallelujah' is also a great version).
I prefer them to the London Olympic song, purely because you get to demonstrate your talents further than within the limits of this purposely up-beat Olympic anthem.
Tbh, it's easily some of the best singing I've heard around here - so if any other KVR members want to hear it to, I'd recommend they contact you by PM.

I hope that you get some helpful and open-minded comments about your track(s) here, and that the wiser KVR members realise that a bouncy London anthem is actually quite hard to achieve.

Cheers.

(edit) and thanks Mushy Mushy - cheque's in the post.

I agree with what Doug said. Only after reading what Doug said did I realize it. I don't know him, and I'm relatively new to KVR, but I do think he nailed it with his analysis. You do have a great voice, and I can only imagine the difficulty of writing a track for this event. You obviously have talent. Well Done
