Just curious
Why does Abelton Live 8 require Microsoft Visual C++ to be installed before working? Most of my other software works fine without it. |

I suppose you mean it requires the Visual C++ Runtime library. Just consider it a shared system component like DirectX, Java or .NET or a specific driver. You need to have it installed to run programs depending on it. Using a shared library has the advantage that the library can be updated independently of the programs that use it. |

Really it is scandalous for program which was written in C++ to use free C++ library from Microsoft which is only several mb light.. Btw most of software which you think is working without it, actually install it in background without even noticing you. edit: ok i am a bit iron but it was also meant to be a joke.., |
