Hi

Has anyone purchased the Komplete 8 Ultimate package? It takes forever to load the different drumsets in Kontakt. 4-5 minutes when nothing else is loaded in the project and even much longer if there is a full project. I have 12 GB's of RAM...

With only 2GB of RAM mine loads in seconds, so I'd assume you have something wrong with your machine that's not related to the amount of RAM

Do you run an antivirus on your computer?

Enable background loading in Kontakt's options. All the Drummer packages coming in K8U should be saved with latest version of Kontakt (in binary NKI format) which enables faster loading... So I'd presume it could also partially be a fault of your hard drive (do you have K8U installed on separate drive? You should!). Defragment your hard drive.

From my experience antivirus programs don't have any effect on speed of loading in Kontakt, at all.

Some does, some don't. Norton is one of those that hinders samplers' libraries loading.

Norton's "antivirus" program can be considered as a virus in itself based on how much hogs the whole damn system. I'd never recommend it to anyone. It's pure crap of a program.

ESET NOD32 or Kaspersky, on the other hand, feel like they're not there at all, they don't hog the system and actually perform tons better than any other AV.

Hi guys.

NI is installed on a resantly formated new disk and I have no problem loading any other plugin. I will check the hardrive for faults though...

There is no anitvirus on this machine as it is not connected to the internet.
