I've been put in the position where I have to record audio playing from my speakers to get some audio for a remix (If anyone could help me do this without a microphone, that would be a great help). I was happily recording away until I realized that there are magnets in my speakers that could be damaging to my microphone (Blue Yeti). Is this a reasonable concern, and if so, could the few minutes I spent doing this have hurt my microphone? Or, should I just make sure I keep it away from now on? |

If your video is in the form of a digital file - mpeg or avi etc - you can strip out the audio using a converter utility. There are plenty of free things like this online.
A magnet in a speaker won't damage your mic. Magnets don't annihilate each other. Last edited by egbert on Mon Jun 18, 2012 4:09 am; edited 1 time in total |

If you are recording voice you should use headphones. Also put some distance between you and your computer so the mic doesn't pick up noise. ---- Oh no, that's next door. It's being-hit-on-the-head lessons in here. |

When you said video, I thought you meant a video tape. |
