thecontrolcentre wrote: So what? The countdown is the same for everyone, whatever time zone. 10hrs and 2 mins to go .... downloading starts at 11pm BST. I've set my alarm clock
Last night they changed the countdown clock - the old one was blue, and the time remaining was based on whatever date/time/time zone a particular visitor's was set to. (You could even set it to June 22 or something and see the countdown hit 000:00:00:00.) The confusion was talked about earlier in the thread, and someone mentioned the real countdown was likely based on CEST - which is now confirmed with the new countdown clock which is locked to the *actual* time the product will become available. |

So out of curiosity, couldn't those who miss the download day easily just find it online somewhere soon after? Not that it matters for me since I'll download it later tonight. But since it's a free product and doesn't have copy protection, it's not like versions online would be pirated right? I guess if the license agreement says you can only use it if you donwnloaded it that day then it might be illegal, but for instance could a friend download it for someone else if they were going to be busy that day? I wonder.
Now please fight about it for 37 pages. mooohahahaha. ---- This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 255 character limit. Once I have something clever, I will certainly fill it in. |

It depends on the EULA. Lots of free stuff doesn't grant the right to redistribute it. Last edited by Acid Mitch on Wed Jun 20, 2012 7:51 am; edited 1 time in total |

Well hopefully the web server isn't being used as the download server too. |

I didn't read any official statement from Arturia employees that it will NOT have a copy protection... the only thing Kevin from Arturia said, as far as i'm concerned, was that it won't have a dongle. Apart from that i'm pretty sure they will avoid that it can be offered elswhere or shared in some way. It would be silly not to do so, offering it only on a single day, and having a agreement with Moog not to use the name anymore. |
