I have two big projects right now.
One is a VST that creates internal combustion engine sounds, which it feels like for every step forward I end up going two steps back with. Such complexity. The other is an actual musical instrument vst with the intention of creating ethereal type sounds. At this point it's a combination VA and PCM synth, with heavier focus on the PCM, but I'm hoping to integrate wavetable scanning into the instrument on some level as well. ---- Chris Roberson:) a.k.a Blu Gruv |

Most of the functions should capable of being mapped by midi with little trouble. The trick I found for some of the parameters though is using the right physical controller to get the feel that you need; when I first started working on the project, for instance, I used an analog sustain pedal (one that had a continuously variable output instead of just an on-off switch) mapped to a midi CC to control the virtual throttle, so even though the throw range of that pedal was significantly less than that of a real car's throttle pedal, it still more or less felt the same in practice. ---- Chris Roberson:) a.k.a Blu Gruv |

Hi Chris, I've tried for days to get your website (from home & work). It always returns "cannot find server". |

Yes, I tried that too. Thanks for the suggestion. I've had this before when trying to buy a soundset (from Daniel Stawczyk) where the site was Czech or somewhere. I wonder why the server is being blocked? I'm in NZ not China |

hi redspark,
tk is the Internet country code for Tokelau, a territory of New Zealand located in the South Pacific ! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.tk) I too used to think tk was some inderterminate european country but it's on your own doorstep (ish). I believe a kvr member sorted this free webhost/site out for Chris. It was mentioned in the Odo Synths thread a couple of months back but I can't search kvr forum on this laptop as the dropdown list under Forum just won't appear. I mention that because I bet he knows the gen on it all. In the meantime don't lose sleep over it, Chris seems a pretty helpful dev and I am sure he will sort you out soon enough. And while I am here, thanks for the synths Chris. ---- Dripfeed Last edited by bob bobwood on Thu Jun 21, 2012 2:56 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Hello Redspark!
So far as I can tell, my site is up and running, I can access it without issue as of 9AM central time here in the U.S. If you are still having issues reaching the site, you can contact me via PM, and I'd be glad to try sending you any or all of my 5 available VSTs via email if you'd like. Let me know what I can do for you. Cheers, Chris ---- Chris Roberson:) a.k.a Blu Gruv |

Still get 'Can't find server' errors whichever browser I try and from my home, my work and my friend's place, so it's probably not related to the ISP as we all use different providers. Can access other .tk sites, however.
Thanks, Chris. Have pm'd you. Last edited by Redspark on Fri Jun 22, 2012 3:25 pm; edited 1 time in total |
