Hi i've been having a problem with my bass and it 'gliding' or something when a low note is played after a high.

you can hear this unwanted effect after every 4 bars on the first note.

I've used massive to create it and was hoping someone could give me some help

Heres a link to a small snippet of just the bass and kick where you can hear the problem.

Many Thanks,

I hear a slight kick in the background when I play the audio clip, but mostly white noise.

Do you have the voicing set to monophonic? If so, that'll cause it to glide between notes, make sure it's set to polyphonic if you don't want it to glide.

Either that or make sure the beginning and ending of notes don't overlap as that will cause a glide on certain presets.

thanks, IEL music and Risk. It was set to monophonic which seemed to be a problem. also tried shortening the note length of the first low note after an high and that seemed to sort it out.

Many thanks

You're welcome Alex.

The good part is now you know how to get that glide effect if/when you actually want it. It's a great effect when you're going for that original Doctor Who theme style synth leads.
