the book and cd "songs in the key of z-the strange world of outsider music" are both worth picking up 
highly recommended!!! been long time faves here for a few years. was searching for a track from it for another thread and came across this

great book. for something similar-ish you could do worse than the two "Incredibly Strange Music" books.
