I don't know..what if I posted that the thing works nicely here? Which it does?
Seems that it took awhile for them to find something to 'fanboi' about.... If you have a problem with them then PM a mod... ---- Barry The man who survived mustard gas and pepper spray is now a seasoned veteran http://www.ambientonline.org/ |

I am no troll, and I only signed up because I have an interest in computer music and from time to time like to see what other folks get upto in their music stuff( I am also no sock puppet). The Normad typo made me laugh so thats why I continued using it. In relation to speaking up for the software, Im just a little concerned of late because for quite a while now some good companies have been going under that made good products. I owned several of kjaerhus audio's Gold series and would have loved to have seen further development but unfortunately now it will never happen. Others that come to mind is the recent departure of RND digital and the same with Bias sound soap or whoever it was.
Nomad factory have made some decent stuff over the years and I would rather see them stay in business than go under as well to see what they make in the future. Sure there is room for criticism but some people actually do like software and also telling others about it. But, concerning these trolling comments I will be carefully considering what forums I start to get into from now on... |

Sorry if I was misunderstood...my point was that it would be unlikely a Nomad sock puppet would misspell the company name. Nothing more, nothing less. However, since the subject is Nomad (or Normad!), I'll relate my only experience with them. I purchased the BBE Maximizer plug right before it became a Nomad plug, and was promised a copy of their version when it was released. I sent them an email requesting it, which they responded to with a request for a copy of the email receipt from Musician's Friend. I complied and sent it. That's the last I ever heard from them. I resent the receipt many times, from several different email addresses over the course of several weeks. Never got a response. I'm not saying all their customer support goes like this, but it sure left a bad taste, and I'm unlikely to purchase from them in the future. Magma looks interesting, but not enough for me to try it out... |

why not ask other Kvr users: Thanks Trakstar, You are right, the speakers is an important part of the chain. Once my room sound will be improved (and I know it needs it, the bass response being so badly distributed in the studio), I will get myself a decent pair of speakers. And I will check your link too. Thanks!! http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4972509 or this guy Trakstar you are an absolute legend! Thank you so much for the detailed reply and for taking the time to respond. Its guys like you that make these forums such invaluable sources of information because at the end of the day, its all about the music. Ive got cracking on all the info you have sent over and pretty sure im close to what im trying to achieve but if theres any chance you can bump me over a midi to rowanjohnson@mail.com and i can compare what i have to what you mean then i can check im heading in the right direction. Theres my credentials where are yours I wonder?? my whites are soooo much whiter , since i started using Trakstar™ ... ----

Well you have three other hosts to try and recreate the problem in, If the problem does not happen in Your other hosts then send NI a bug report and also inform Nomad Factory of the problem if it is repeatable with Maschine so both know of the issue, Best chance of it getting resolved. Lost work I know how it feels and its a shitter but I have no answers or solutions to that one other than save Your work often, Usually if Ableton crashes on Me for whatever reason it offers the opportunity to pickup from where it all went tits up, Never used Maschine so wouldn't know if it offers a similar thing. Pro Tools never has crashed on me as far as I can remember (expect when I tried using the VST to RTAS apdaptor with VSTi insturment plug-ins...That was crash happy time then but obviously they got unwrapped quickly!!!)
Maschine running in Ableton for now until You have the problem sorted perhaps? Hope that helps anyway Dean ---- No One Ever Wins, No One Finally Loses, Except The Dead, Under The Sun, They Rot Together With Absolute Biological Equality |

Someone should develop an auto back-up app for DAWS. I use Vegas Pro and Vegasaur, a third party plugin, which adds some really useful auto back-up features to Vegas. It backs up your project in the background without having to save in Vegas which means you only need to save a project when you really want to not just as a precaution against crashes. It would be great if there was something like this for DAWS. |

Pro Tools has auto backups which can be specified by the user under preferences (how often and how many of the backups to keep) and Live does also but in a different manner (I have not read exactly how it does it but as mentioned it asks on launching whether or not the user would like to recover thier work plus puts together a bug report pack should the user wish to send it off to Ableton which is handy).
I am sure there are other DAW applications with a similar feature. As is I am only familar with the few which I use myself, I can not say for certain it is featured in most others but a glaring omission if that is the case. So yeah Indeed man, I fully agree it should be a simple process which the user does not even notice until/unless they need it/set and forget Dean ---- No One Ever Wins, No One Finally Loses, Except The Dead, Under The Sun, They Rot Together With Absolute Biological Equality |

This thread is awesome, I laughed a good few times reading it... Cubase has auto back up.
Oh and I have more plugins than all of you... (actually I can't back that up.) Personally I'm not a big fan of norman faculty plugins, but I do have their analog series eq and compressor and they're not bad. I just prefer other plugs. Ones that cost lots of money that you can't afford since you spent all your money on buying yet another daw. (Haha I'm just messing with ya.) munchkin wrote: at least they never named a synth "Cyclop" WTF! The singular of cyclops is "cyclops" not "cyclop".
