Hey KVR lads and lasses,
I've been lovin' on Zebra again So I've been trying to make a convincing synthetic orchestra. This piece was inspired by the game "Amnesia: The Dark Descent" ...I've been trying to play it, but I'm too scared at the moment to go any further Anyways, this track is entirely Zebra(and Zebrify), except for a couple ValhallaRooms and the mastering plugin, which was iZotope Ozone 4.(I'm terrible at mastering anyways, but I tried) Also used parametric EQs within FL studio, which is my host. http://soundcloud.com/esgalachoir/arcane-and-forbidden - Corin |

A nice evil intro, followed by great sounds throughout. The "orchestration" is very good and the synth sounds are extremely convincing.
Good work |

A synthesizer? One? Not multiple different Synths? No crazy effects?
mind........blown.........SHHHBLEEEEEERG[that's an exploding noise] Sounds more impressive than my sample-library orchestra. |

I've got tons of softsynths(I used to give into GAS on the slightest whim/whiff) But Zebra really is, for me personally, my dream come true in softsynth form. She just gets things done. I'm always coming back for more because there's always something I haven't tried yet. I purchased Garritan's personal Orchestra a few years back, then, after being unsatisfied with it(although it really is fun and I like it's French horns) I bought Eastwest's Platinum at a half price deal. It's a decent step up, but I agree with something Hans Zimmer said in one of his interviews, which went something like "samples are useful, and they can sound great, but they were made at a previous point in time, when the piece I'm working on wasn't even conceived yet, so how are they going to fit the occasion?" |
