SampleMoog takes a good deal of time to down and install but it's sooooooooooooooo worth it!!
I think this is one of the best deals I've ever made on some exquisite VST instruments! The sound is just gorgeous and inspirational IMHO. I played two presets and suddenly realized that I had spent five minutes on them. I remember trying to patch up a Moog Series III at Fanshawe College in the electronic music studio when I was studying Music Industry Arts. It was time consuming, and at times difficult and frustrating to get anything that sounded worth while. With SampleMoog, it's all done for you... just a click of the mouse and you're in Moog heaven! Do yourself a favor and buy it... for $29.99 it's a steal! ...and no, I don't work for IK Multimedia. ---- J.S. Bach... the Einstein of music. The demo sound files do reveal a fine range, and the IK multi-fx and
16 part multitimbal setup, makes this a great deal, especially for young eyes Cheers |

most patches suffer from horrible sounding aliasing in upper octaves, which, IMO, renders the whole thing useless. |

To quote Admiral Quality, "What does aliasing sound like? It sounds like unrelated crap. A particularly good way to hear it is a slowly modulating, siren-like sound." Moog leads fit that range quite nicely, if not to a T, yet a google search of samplemoog aliasing, comes right to your post, not hundreds, or even 5 complaining Samplemoog purchasers. With the armada of preamp, eq, fx, filter, layering, bit rates, and sound engine options, I doubt that taming the odd preset is beyond possibilities, and with 1942 other sounds to work with, not hard to find a suitable alternate. Upon hearing the audio demos, 'unrelated crap' never entered my mind. Cheers |

I give not much of this agreements. Arturia has the same agreement to put the Moog logo on the GUI and their Minimoog emulation is average compared to Diva or Minimonsta. |

I own it (I have Total workstation 2) there is some very nice sounds. but i think some sounds clearly needs more samples and sounds clearly better than any softsynth which tries emulate moog. But i found only few sounds what i maybe use omeday SonikSynth have much more this kind sounds i mean useable samples form analog synths...
ps. I must look again these Film Orchestra vol 1. type stuff. |

There are two kinds of files to download, the application file and the sounds files..... five of them for SampleMoog. Once you open and install these sound files in the Instruments directory under SampleMoog (on Windows, not sure on Mac), you will be able to hear the sounds. ---- I need more practice, not more gear. |

As I've mentioned earlier, JPQ, the Film Orchestra titles are actually the Cinematik Xpansion Tank split into two libraries. Film Orch Vol. I is mostly D-50 style synth and orch sounds, and Vol II is more sound-design driven, with sound effects sampled into some patches, (which some folks love and others loathe) and other cool things you'll use very rarely. There are a few exceptions in each volume, like the lovely Shawshank orchestra patch in Vol. II, but generally it's broken down as above. And by choosing Cinematik, you get both for your free eSoundz choice! Remember, you only get the Xpansion Tank bonus by buying at eSoundz.com. Why wouldn't you?! KVR/eSoundz: Xenobt |

Hi Xenobt. Do you think there is some problem with my SampleMoog install? It takes a long time to load any of the SampleMoog Combi's on my System. In fact, my system has hung in stand alone mode a few times already. I installed to the default location for windows (7) and I've gone through the relist thing etc.
I don't have these problems with 'SampleTank 2 XL' or 'SonikSynth 2' but I guess SampleMoog uses a lot of samples. Thanks ... ---- The invisible and the non-existent look very much alike. |

I read your earlier post too, Aloysius, and was hoping that some other kind soul might jump in here. Anyone here use lots of combis? Or know where to put them so they'll show up in ST Free?
It seems that wherever they are for ST, that's where the others would go, but that a best guess. I'm not a big combi user, since I build my layers as I go in Pro Tools and don't save them as such. They're always there when I open the session, so it's a step I skip. I haven't had any problems with hanging notes or slow loads, but a few others here have, and if I'm not mistaken they're almost all on windows systems. One strange thing that does happen with a handful of IK/ST synth patches is that if I push the mod wheel to its highest value, (sending the filter into the ultrasonic range), it crashes pro tools instantly. It may be a bug specific to my system, so no biggie, but save often just in case! KVR/eSoundz: Xenobt |

Thanks. It's a pity, as it gives the product an unstable impression. You would think that the default Combi's would work just fine, in the default product but, having said that, SampleMoog was last updated on 09-24-2009, so it may not be 100% compatible etc.
I was also thinking that if the sounds were somehow corrupted, it would be a good idea for me to re-download them before the standard 30 day (?) limit expires. I might just try that actually. ---- The invisible and the non-existent look very much alike. |

Try running it inside the ST Free engine and see what happens, A, it's the most recent version and may do better with big stacks o' samples.
I never used the actual user interfaces for any of the Total Workstation instruments, so I still have all my IK authorizations for a rainy (old testament style!) day. But after seeing some of the cool things you can do with the one for Miroslav on YouTube, I may change my mind about that! Plus, it's pretty... Check out the 7 part Sampletank Training series there, the videos are pretty brief, and gave me lots of cool performance and feature tips that are probably in the manual for all I know! (a) I'm re-downloading the sounds. Their server is pretty good.
(b) Videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvK-9y4b__c Cool tip (c) SampleTank Free is a option worth trying. (d) We'll all be expecting great things from ST3. ---- The invisible and the non-existent look very much alike. |

Liking it great fun. With ST2 superb for a few pints in the boozer. I want to buy a proper Moog but my Microkorg covers most things that Moogs do. But there is something special about Moog Instruments they were created in the heart and mind of a guy who could see beyond the interface behind the curtain so to speak. When i watched the Moog story video in my opinion he described it as the electron flow through the circuits was directly connected to the soul |
