I'm looking for the names of four musicians, all important figures in (broadly speaking) the same genre. First two clues are fairly literal, last two are more lateral/stupid.
Two bonus answers for someone with sharp eyes. |

Two bonus answers for someone with sharp eyes. In that case, I think I know the genre and the first two. I have someone in mind for the 3rd but not sure if I'm right. The 4th I'm stumped. |

#4 predates all the others. He's better known for his compositions and influence on the genre than for his recorded output. (And the clue, for which I probably deserve a punch in the face, uses a fairly quaint euphemism which may not be common in your neck of the woods.) |

No, I was hoping to include RJ but couldn't think of a tasteful way to show a 'Johnson'. In order of birth: #4, #1, #3, #2. (#2 was born about 10 years after #3, who was born about 10 years after #1, who was born about 20 years after #4.) I'm not proud of clue #4, so if someone's got all the other answers, I think that'll do for the win. |
