How can you achieve the bounciness of these drums in this track, ive tried countless times to get that feeling but can't quite succeed, are they changing in pitch? =( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJ6TIzJL3Rs

try to replicate the drum beat again.

use some EQ, filter, and try to change the pitch a bit., use the volume knob on the offbeat thumbs/kicks to adjust the level of the offbeat kick. only do bit by bit, if you try everything at once you might not gonna end up on that result you want

the compressor could also be the essence here. i don't know how it sounds on your speakers. but on my studio set, it really sounds catchty, and the compressor might also be the key.

2 more things, the ADSR on the kick sounds very shortened, and sidechain is on. so to shorten the kicks either do it with ADSR or shorten the midi note.

try these 6 things out. give it some good time and play with it..

I hope these preferences help you.

If you got anymore question just ask Very Happy

Regards David

Use one kick for the 4.4 beat and select 2-3 more samples similar in tone and pitch and simply pan them round the main beat on off beats but in time with the groove. Experiment until you get a nice bounce, and as he said above send them all to a bus with a compressor to make them pump and groove with each other. You could give density mark 3 a go for this on the firts or second settings. Pan the 1st sample left in the first bar, the second right in the second bar and so on. Dont overcrowd the sound with too many panned beats as its a sparse rhythm if you listen to the first few bars. Also in the 4th bar add a fill with the original kick into the next.
