Hi, guys.
I just wanted to know if is there any special way to clean the midi keyboard and other controllers. Any liquid, any special way, any special tool, etc. Mostly to make it clean and not harm them. If there would be a cheaper or homemade way, much better. Thanks in advance and have a good day |

MIDI stuff is pretty sturdy, I mean its very basic electronics, not old analog gear. Also the devices are generally made from plastic and cheaper materials, so it's pretty hard to harm it to any extreme. You could just take a bit of windex on a paper towel and wipe where needed, but thats probably the cheapest method of doing so. |

Yesterday, I went over to a friend's studio and he showed me this "cyber putty" which he was obviously quite amazed by.
Personally for me though, just cleaning with a laptop cloth and sometimes spraying a little laptop cleaning fluid onto the cloth before cleaning, is more than good enough. It also helps to cover the equipment with a piece of cloth when not in use. |

I usually spit on the cleaning cloth and wipe it. I'm not joking, actually, even though it might sound like. The secret is in a good cloth, though. If you need a cleaning liquid, just use distilled water with some alcohol and a bit of liquid soap in it to taste. For the smell, mostly. That's what I use for everything. It works great. |

Turn the device on its side then wipe with a clean dry cloth and then use a small clean dry paint brush for inbetween the keys and around the buttons knobs and sliders |
