So here is my problem. I have over a year or 3 of sample build up. Time to organize so I start actually using all this stuff I bought.
This is my process it's easy as 1,2,3 and I wish I did this a lot sooner. Everythings on an external drive, on my second screen I open a folder in my documents or whatever and inside that main folder I label kicks, snare, hi hats, fx hits, etc. Going through all the samples I just copy and paste each part with the right instrument. That way I have the regular still like it came. Now Ive got a folder I may be able to upload into maschine. Any thoughts. ? |

now I've run into a problem. before each hi hat or snare etc there is numbers and now error messages are coming up when copying into the folders saying that one already exits and gives me options, but these are new instruments just labeled the same.
What should I do? If I have to go and say hi hat #1, 2 ,3 ,4, that will take forever. |

Are you really trying to make a folder with a gadzillion .wav files? Like snare 1, snare 2, snare 6432, ... ? Tight hat 1, Loose hat 980, Ride bell 42? You never going to find the same sample you like the next time you look into a folder like that. |

for claps I had to go back and rename Im now on clap 52. This is very time consuming and will take days to do for all.
In the end I will have an aresnal thats ready to attack anybody on a block radious. |

Yea well make a "favorites" folder under each one then, drag and drop the best ones in those for easier access. |

The process you want is called "batch processing". The sort of thing you're trying to do is exactly what computers are good at.
http://file-folder-ren.sourceforge.net/ Just move your claps, snares, etc in their own folders and let your OS rename them. Once they're segregated properly, use Metamorphose to rename them all "Snare-#" or whatever. It will increment the number for you if you tell it to. Good luck with all of that. I hate dealing with samples so much I pretty much deleted them all. ---- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~* |
