Yeah it's weird. And it proves that reverbs are really all about subjective user experience.
I hate RV7000 i really can't stand it. I think that Plate algorithm is a joke with just one filter control and Hall is so plasticky that it's ridiculous. Spring is very bad. Delays are ok (but they are delays). Overall sound is very plastic and doesn't gel with the mix at all. I guess i'll make myself even more weird when i say that i like oldest Reason reverb (RV-7) as far better sounding (i mean hall algorithm) with better stereo imaging. It is still inferior to today VST reverbs (imho) but it has really good hall algporithm. Only thing i liked about rv7000 is Arena algorithm. Everything else is a joke to me. IMHO it is easily beaten by Valhalla room and can not hold cigar to Lexicon reverbs (i know..lexicon reverbs are ridiculously expensive..just sayin) |

I don't want to rain on your parade but I found Reason's reverb very poor (gritty, unnatural sounding) compared to the Lexicon PCM 81. This is not surprising considering how expensive Lexicon is. What surprised me was how good Valhalla reverb is and of course Valhalla is not available in Reason. |

Because why the need to be so negative, a lot of reason users like the reverb and so dont really need someone to tell them "how good something else is" and "that you cant get in reason" |

I've never tried the Valhalla reverb (Valhalla Room?) but keep hearing good things about it, so I should probably grab the demo.
And for Reason users, perhaps they will make an Re version, so I see no problem It would have to be VERY good for me to want it in preference to RV7000 in Reason though - I think Propellerhead made a real winning reverb there for sure! It's not for everything (and it definitely lacks a sense of space and imaging) but on a mono instrument it is superb. |

Wow, it's just an opinion. And a reverb is not part of anyone's family, I think. |

I got shimmer verb and they really are excellent, but they are not the be all and end all of reverb perfection. I wish that I had got Eos because its capable of doing drum plates as well as lush halls like shimmerverb, but that being said these reverbs are in a class of their own. I cant find another reverb that sounds like shimmerverb especially with the dual pitch FX for dimensions. Ttoz said earlier that the best he had heard at the side of it was breverb so you might want to demo quite a few. I think I also saw in another forum that sean of valhalla DSP was not going to port any of his FX into reason because of problems with the SDK or problems with the company although I cant remember for sure. Hmmm - a very sound argument from Sean there.
I've just checked out Eos that you recommend and listening to the audio demos that AD provide on their site .... WOW. Very nice. I think I might have to get that one |

I was being honest, not attempting to troll. I started out completely in hardware. I wanted to go in the box and bought Reason first because it seemed simpler but found the sound quality of RV7000 unacceptable. Anyone could take the same WAV file and send it through RV7000 and Valhalla on similar settings and draw their own conclusions. |

I agree with Franzm about the reason reverb ---- Developers! Developers! Your plug-ins should be circuit modeled!!! It's the shizzz! Also don't forget oversampling & 0dfb filters! |

hey no problems here with opinions. i think it's great. i saw zero trolling personally.
In any case i bought the softube so the case is closed. I have all my reverb bases covered in reason. softube can easily do the lex sound ---- Please call me Theo. |

THIS is what makes me happy here. one little misunderstanding, an apology, and all is good. I wish everyone could be like that rather than bringing up stuff from the past and attacking. Thanks guys. ---- Please call me Theo. |
