BBE arrived, installed and authorized. That was fast. I think maybe they have a distribution center not far from me. So far, it's cool, very nice interface even by Nomad standards. I guess the sound is what one should expect: somewhere between snake oil and EQ/dynamic EQ/phase correlation/blah, blah, blah. Oh, and it is an actual replicated CD (I know, I used to make them, literally), an empty sleeve with an S/N sticker (I guess maybe the CD was in the sleeve at one point), another sticker with the same number, and air, all in a fancy shrink-wrapped box. Deal complete. |

******** Dear UAD User - We know that you get a lot of email, and we'd like to say "thanks" for being on our promotional email list. So here's a link to download your free Pultec Pro EQ plug-in. The Pultec Pro EQ adds the Pultec MEQ-5 Midrange Equalizer module to the Pultec EQP-1A, combining two of the most sought-after hardware EQs into a single plug-in. The warmth and tone this plug-in delivers is incredible, especially on vocals and guitars. To get your free Pultec Pro EQ plug-in, visit UA's Online Store , add the plug-in to your shopping cart and apply the coupon code FREEPULTEC during checkout. Just be sure to stop in soon — your coupon expires in 30 days. FYI I have no UAD cards at all or ever have. I just attempted to add it to my cart for the heck of it and I am stopped with a popup alert box stating: "Pultec Pro EQ Plug-In requires a UAD-2 DSP Accelerator Card." so it will not allow one to checkout with this EQ unless they have a UAD card registered under that account. ---- "Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best." - Henry Van Dyke |

Hey, VitaminD -- That was kinda cool that you tested the edges of their purchasing system that way. I just now got a chance to do the 'purchase' and download. I have a couple of old UAD-1 cards, didn't bother with the trade-up deal. Went through fine; this is one of their older products, so it works on my cards, but I did have to log in and access my account in order to do the deal. UAD seems to be doing their best to exterminate references to the UAD-1, so I can see why they'd only mention the UAD-2 if you come at it cold. |

^ Just to complete the tests, you can't order it if you already have it too There doesn't seem to be much on offer for those who already own it. Just a July coupon (which everyone probably got). It's a very nice EQ though and it's the one I've used most out of the UAD lot. I've stuck with UAD-1 (since I still use Nigel) and can only see me going to UAD-2 via an Apollo. I wrote to P. Jnr. a while ago about it and UAD-1 is definitely done. Not a problem though as it is solid. ---- PM me for 10% off at the FabFilter shop (New Customers Only). |

Got mine today... Only tried it on master bus but it does a pretty nice job. Seems like it is some sort of bass extender/treble exicter with a limiter perhaps on it. Very simple dials.. 3 of them on the whole gui to be exact. Not a big fan of the high end exciter.. but the bass extender adds a nice thump to my ears. good deal for ~14 dollars all. Btw it is STILL on sale over at MF if anyone is still interested in the BBE D82. I'm half tempted to order 3 or 4 and sell them at a tidy profit to our European friends. ---- "Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best." - Henry Van Dyke |

MF asked for $42 shipping costs for a delivery to Germany - that was too much money for me and I stopped the check-out. Does anyone know how I can get the BBE D82 for the $9.99? I think this is just a CD, so why they demand such high shipping costs? |

Because they're lying that it's a "shipping" price. It wouldn't cost them so much to ship it abroad even if they wanted it to. On another note, I keep getting spam from Musician's Friend after "unsubscribing" from a mailing list I never subscribed to. I never even registered as a user, only entered my email as a "guest" and didn't complete the order. If this continues after the *10 days* they state they need to "process your request" of "unsubscribing" (again, it's unsolicited: spam), I'll do something about it. ---- "Music is spiritual. The update to Komplete from older versions is 99 euro. Is that the final price or is VAT added on top of it for European customers? |

NI uses to include VAT in their advertised prices, so I guess that's the final price. |

Along with the update goes a "one week only" deal on Turnado, only €99,-/$119, and only until July 31. http://www.sugar-bytes.com/ I am not affiliated with Sugar Bytes or The Columbia School of Broadcasting!!! Zen Taxi I still have a 20% off coupon from the friendship deal which brings it down to 79€ for me - too good to pass I fear |
