Is this deluxe edition on iTunes, or a physical cd? I got it on iTunes. It comes with an adobe booklet. |

Well, it's not the orchestra because it was done long time after Hans' London time. Don't think he had time to do another recording session for this. The drums are most definately Zebra, probably with a compressor to shape and an Uhbik-A to finish (not certain about snares). The strings, well, might be cleverly masked. There are some sounds in the pack that don't sound real at all if played by themselves, but in a mix... The choirs/voices otoh are easily identified presets - we'll have them in a demo vid. (I had the impression he used one patch from Angels & Demons, but I could be wrong) If it is Zebra - then, well, that'll certainly explain why people have difficulties hearing it. It's not the synth sounds. Or, as someone put it, "This is what Zebra is all about" Anyhow, I'll ask Hans. And I'll just say that The End is mostly Zeebs until then. I'm certainly looking forward to finding out. It's a very beautiful song. The voices and brassy sounds are quite convincing too. I'm just listening again and I suppose it's possible the strings are Zebra, but man I'll be impressed if they all are. He really did an amazing job with the expressiveness in this track to make it sound like real instruments. By the way Urs, do you know if he used Zebra in-built effects or used external effects as well (like reverbs etc.) Seems like the Reverb is not Zebra's, would love to know what is what if I'm right. ---- This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. By the way Urs, do you know if he used Zebra in-built effects or used external effects as well (like reverbs etc.) Seems like the Reverb is not Zebra's, would love to know what is what if I'm right. Yes, most patches are extremely expressive. You need to learn them. Some are like new instruments and some may pose a little puzzle game that's rewarding to solve. He uses a lot of Uhbik-A (but probably not as the only reverb) and compression, plus certainly a lot of things I don't know about. I do think he mentioned UAD once, but maybe that was just the interview he did. But yeah, the one thing we couldn't quite add to the package is Hans Zimmer's workflow and of course his skills as a composer. I'm sure many people will listen twice to TDK and TDKR soundtracks now to figure this out. Some patches btw. are "instant HZ" and too simple (yet great!) to be true U |
