Here is a demo from my project Agora I just mixed down this evening. I'm helping to write and produce the album along with the guitarists Nic and Austin. The song is called "Descending The Trench" and will be the third song on our upcoming 5 song "Voyager EP" which will be released for free in about 3-4 weeks http://soundcloud.com/agora_tx/descending-the-trench-demo Please leave some comments/critiques and get ready for more free music coming up... ---- "On this show your voice will be heard in the form of my voice" - Stephen Colbert |

Great track. I really enjoyed it. Parts of this reminded me of Opeth or Porcupine Tree in their heavier moments, but this had a darker vibe. Excellent playing on here from all concerned. I particularly enjoyed the drums. They sounded clear and packed a nice punch.
Good work |

Excellent track! Very curious about the EP, I like this a lot. Felt like listening to Spheres from Pestilence, Atheist and Cynic all together - which is quite a task on itself. |

Who says fretless bass can't be used in metal???
I was going to say that this reminded me of Atheist, but someone beat me to it. ---- "Be excellent to each other." Dax IX (Music) | Ambient Online Cubase 7, A Few VSTi, Win8 Pro 64, AMD FX-6100, 32GB RAM, 3.25TB total HDD, SSD |

Fretless can be used in metal, of course, and I very much agree on that sentiment.
Cool track! |

This is all the awesome in the world. I prefer a more pronounced high end in my bass tones, but the playing and feel of it is spectacular.
The drums are also extra super awesome. |

Plus add a bit of Obscura into the mix with the fretless awesomeness. Those three are big influences/legends to Me also Amon1973 and yeah I agree it touches those progressive death legends, Like you said - No mean feat at all! Sounding good and really looking forwards to the release. Nice work, Thanks ---- Shit For Blood, Piss For Brains |

I wanted to share this little snippet I did of a new mastering chain for the song. I added more bass on the master EQ and dropped some of the compression. Made it a bit punchier and louder which was nice and also dropped some of the highs off the cymbals http://soundcloud.com/jacob-smith-wichita/descending-remaste r-test-demo ---- "On this show your voice will be heard in the form of my voice" - Stephen Colbert |

You're throwing down serious amounts of bands I've never heard of! I'll check them out. If we sound like them it's coincidence. Our influences for this album (or at least what our stuff reminded us of) have been stuff like Blotted Science, Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Planet X, and the Deftones to name a few. ---- "On this show your voice will be heard in the form of my voice" - Stephen Colbert |

Our influences for this album (or at least what our stuff reminded us of) have been stuff like Blotted Science, Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Planet X, and the Deftones to name a few. I am not saying it in a bad sense jaco815 or attempting to mess with your head at all, Here are examples of the few I have mentioned: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdiZS707aPs or playlist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sc-wiBhxJrE&feature=list_othe r&playnext=1&list=AL94UKMTqg-9AHj5oJ8xVWOqlcBznGXOUX Thats Obscura from German origin, On Relapse Records. Really doing some good stuff in the metal world IMveryHonestHO FWIW, Well worth checking out. Now with Ephel Duath it depends highly upon which album as these Italian dudes have had alot of line-up issues, My personal faviorite is The Painter's Palette (2003) but all thier material I am a big fan of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsBFHB28uAw and also one off of the follow up to that one 'Pain Necessary To Know' released in 2005: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kj1Cr-fKDw8 Those two records were released on Earache Records, Not sure about previous albums or albums after the last one, I do know they are working on a record this year which is something to look forwards to. Again they are in my honest very humble opinion well worth checking out. Also it was not simply due to your material being a little bit left of center but what I have heard so far genuinely as first and foremost a very humble fan of metal music along with other styles/genres also did remind Me of these two bands along with the three greats/legends that Amon1973 amongst others mentioned. I am as said really looking forwards to hearing the EP when it is released All the best to yourself and the rest of the band, Cheers and take care My best to everyone else as always Dean ---- Shit For Blood, Piss For Brains |
