I am going to suggest an idea that KVR could use to help solve the KVR Market Place's Bargain Center (bargains only, please; use gossip thread for chat) and Bargain Center: discussion, gossip, etc. threads problem. This involves using new terminology called comments (all my own invention). You have the forum which is the Market Place. The thread is Bargain Center (bargains only, please; use gossip thread for chat) within the Market Place. You then have posts within the Bargain Center (bargains only, please; use gossip thread for chat) thread. A comment is a post within one of these posts! Confused?...please read on:-


How comments could be implemented in the Bargain Center (bargains only, please; use gossip thread for chat) thread:-


a) where comments have not been added to a post within the Bargain Center (bargains only, please; use gossip thread for chat) thread, an Add Comments option is added to all such posts

b) where comments have been added to a post within the Bargain Center (bargains only, please; use gossip thread for chat) thread, an Add or View Comments option is added to all such posts.


If a user selects either the Add Comments or the Add or View Comments option they can then add or view comments added to that post;- a new window appears with the standard KVR forum thread interface showing the original post and all subsequent comments plus the standard KVR blank screen to post a comment at the end of the thread.

If a comment is then added to the post, that post will then be put to the top of the list of posts within the Bargain Center (bargains only, please; use gossip thread for chat) thread.

Any time a comment is added to a post, those who use the Watch this topic for replies option for the Bargain Center (bargains only, please; use gossip thread for chat) thread will not be informed.

A new Watch this post for comments option will be added to all posts within the Bargain Center (bargains only, please; use gossip thread for chat) thread. This will allow users to not miss out on any new comments added to posts that they want to be kept updated about.

Bargain Center (bargains only, please; use gossip thread for chat) thread will be renamed Bargain Centre (use Add or View Comments to view or add comments to posts).

By using the system of Forum - Thread - Post - Comment:-

You now have an easier way to recognise any new posts which are informing of new bargains.
No need to trawl through loads of posts commenting about these new bargain posts.
You can quickly post or read comments about a particular bargain by using the Add Comments or Add or View Comments.
Users who use the Watch this topic for replies option for the Bargain Center (bargains only, please; use gossip thread for chat) thread will only be informed of any new bargains.
By using the Watch this post for comments option you can still be kept updated on any new comments added to posts of interest to you.
