Howdy Krew:

I've really been seeking out a HQ reverb solution. For quite a while, I was using VOS epicVERB 1.5. Of course, starting out with it, I wasn't really good at producing great results. Over the course of time I got much more familiar with it and found it to be a fantastic quality plugin. It actually "ruined" me because Bootsy's plugins, to my ears, rival very expensive commercial products. I got introduced to VOS plugins very soon after my initial entry into the world of PC recording/production. Dear me! How was I to know that all FREE plugins weren't as stellar as Bootsy's?

Well, I too got caught up in the hype of always searching for an "even better" plugin for this, that, or the other. After reading many, many reviews about IK CSR, I bought it for $50 when it was on sale in the spring of 2012. I like CSR and I do consider it to certainly be quite a bit better than most freeware reverbs. However, listening to some of my older vocal tracks that were mixed with epicVERB, I gotta say - epicVERB is better (to my ears). I mean no disrespect or lack of gratitude toward IK Multimedia; they offered their excellent suite of reverbs for a very affordable price.

It is my opinion that epicVERB can "nail" very nice, believable room sounds. It can produce fine, lush reverberation with nice long decay (tails) without nasty ol' metallic ringing or artefacting. When using it in "Ambeince" mode, it can totally make highhats "breathe" and sit very, very well in a mix - all very subtly.

My DAW is 32 bit. My plugins are all 32 bit. I understand that lots of folks have moved over to 64bit, but I honestly haven't felt the need to just yet. I am a faithful Acoustica supporter. Mixcraft 5.x was good to me, and the latest build of Mixcraft 6 is vewwy, vewwy good, you wascally wabbit. Fast, extremely intuitive, unlimited tracks, superb vst support, vst multi-out support, etc . .

We all read/hear so much about Aether, Breeze, EOS, ValhallaRoom, etc. I was just wondering how others felt about Bootsy's stuff? In particular, epicVERB. Smile

I like and use some of Bootsy's plugins, but I don't really like Epicverb.

Out of the Bootsy plugins, only EpicVerb has impressed me. (I haven't tried them all extensively though.) It isn't unbelievably excellent, but considering the price it is very good. Laughing

EpicVerb seems to have quirks/bugs which I would guess are because of it being made with SynthMaker. And of course a 64 bit version and especially an OS-X version are almost certain to not ever be available...(Which are downsides when considering updating/changing workflows/systems in the future.)

I have spent quite a while trying various reverbs and I have been going back and forth with epicverb. I initially really liked it then I bought Redline Reverb and stopped using Epicverb. I have since got EAReverb and been trying the demo of ValhallaRoom which I love.

I recently decided to give Epicverb another go and really spent time tweaking it. I was very surprised at how good this reverb can sound. I'm finding myself using 112db Redline Reverb, EAReverb and Epicverb in equal amounts and am planning to get ValhallaRoom aswell.

I like it a lot, I find Epicverb and EOS (for the superhall mode) covers most of my needs. Maybe Voxengos OldskoolVerb for occasional 'obvious' artificial effects.

Best free verb together or above ProG (Freeverb3) and Ambience in my opinion. I think it's true stereo as well. But once you've tried for example Valhalla Room or other top verbs the difference is more clear, although with all the paramaters of Epicverb you can still dial in what you need so it's not essential to get a better one in my opinion except for the fact that Valhalla Room is so cheap.

I love me some Epicverb! The new version blows the old version away, bootsie really outdid himself. I still don't know why he doesn't charge any money for his hard work but am very thankful for it.

Epicverb fared really well in this reverb shootout video. The reverb tails sound the smoothest out of all the plugins except convolution.

Better than I thought after I spent some time with it. Some of the algos appear better than others but I'm too new with delving into it to definitively say which ones.

Stick Bootsy's Tessla Pro behind it and see what happens.

Woops . . . sorry if I'm being daft here, but I'm not sure what "TL, DR" are acronyms for.
